LG Mobile phones are made under the name of LG Telecom which is a subsidiary of South Korean giant, LG Group. It was one of the first companies to launch a commercial 3G service using PCS Technology. In 1997 it bettered itself by launching a second PCS network which increased data transmission speeds.
In 2002, LG UMTS mobile division demonstrated the world's first WCDMA video telephony at the South Korea-Japan Football world cup. They also offer many mobile based services such as BankOn where financial transactions related to your bank account can be done. Another service is MusicOn which is an on-line music store. LG Mobile phones got a resounding start mainly due to their tag of smartly created electronic goods. However, with time this accolade and feature started to erode away. Their strength of consumer electronic goods couldn't help the mobile phones sales. Its been a lot of struggle and restructuring by the company in its design and features which has brought about its stature and position that it currently holds. Coming to the present, LG phones have created a league of their own in terms of the style and ravishing looks that they possess. Its not just about looks either, they have started producing handsets with newer, cutting edge technologies. This sets a precedent which not only they have to surpass in the future but also something the competitors would strive to beat. Indeed it's tag-line of "Life's Good" is justified by the mobile phones.

LG underwent a boom with the launch of Black Label series (LG Chocolate, Shine and Secret) and various interesting and stylish handsets such as Prada, K910 Renoir, KM900 Arena and GC900 Viewty. The Chocolate phone brought about a change in LG's views and outlook of a broad and thick phones to extremely sleek and light weight designs. It has a very soft touch navigation system and its beauty is exemplified with back lights. In August this year, the organization announced that its multimedia and supremely fantastic KM900 Arena had sold 1 million units in all but five months! Arena is not the only phone in achieving remarkable sales, touchscreen device Cookie helped LG in ascending sales by contributing 5 million units sold worldwide. Now LG has entered the highly lucrative smartphone, touchscreen, PDA market with its Android device , GW620. This phone would definitely lure many people into buying. Other noteworthy devices which are meant for the future are, GW520, GW550, GM 750.

LG mobile phones are definitely going places from its initial stages of launch. They are improving on a regular basis and offer handsets for newbies, medium based and advanced users and also cater to their requirements in the applications added.
