Affiliate Fraud fake visitors' activity generated by an affiliate using illegitimate and unethical techniques in order to increase his affiliate earnings.
Affiliate Marketing a business deal between an affiliate merchant and an affiliate publisher where both agree to share revenue, subject to certain terms and conditions.
Affiliate Merchant a website owner who desires to recruit affiliate publishers so that they can advertise and help sell his products/services for a certain commission.
Affiliate Network an intermediary website that enrolls affiliate merchants and invites affiliates to take their pick from the merchants listed with them; an affiliate network provides the necessary tools required for the smooth functioning of an affiliate program.
Affiliate Software a software tool that tracks and compiles reports of clicks, registrations and sales on an affiliate link.
Autoresponder a software tool that automatically sends a response to an incoming email.

B2C (BusinessToConsumer) a business that deals in products/services that are of use to consumers, i.e., the end-users.
Banner Ad a graphical web advertisement unit that is shaped like a banner; it can be horizontal or vertical.
Banner Blindness a term used to describe the deliberate ignorance of banner advertisements by web visitors, even though it may contain information that is useful to them.
Banner Exchange an advertising scheme where member websites can choose to display others' banner ads on their websites in return for credit points that can be redeemed for placement of their own banner ads on other member websites.
Blog a 'Web Log' hence the term 'blog' an easily administered site where people can publish their thoughts.
Button Ad a web advertisement unit that looks like a button, and is much smaller than a banner advertisement.
Button Exchange an advertising scheme where member websites can choose to display others' button ads on their websites in return for credit points that can be redeemed for placement of their own button ads on other member websites.

Click-Through the act of clicking on an online advertisement that takes the web visitor to the advertiser's website.
Click-Through-Rate (CTR) the number of click-throughs for every hundred ad impressions (expressed as %).
Conversion Rate the number of visitors converted into customers by an advertiser (expressed as %).
Cost-Per-Action (CPA) an Internet advertising billing system where the advertiser pays only when the action he desires such as a sale or subscription to a newsletter is performed by the click-through visitor.
Cost-Per-Click (CPC) the cost paid by the advertiser for every click-through one of their ads.
CPM cost to the advertiser for every thousand impressions of his advertisement customer acquisition cost the cost of bagging a brand new customer.

Keyword Research the technique of figuring out which keywords are best suited to your website in order to push it to the top of the search engines results page and how popular they are among netizens.
Keywords Tag a meta-tag containing keywords in the HTML code, used to help define the primary keywords of a web page.
