Internet Marketing 2009 - Big Changes

Internet Marketing 2009 - could be the biggest new year change in quite some time. The biggest changes for Internet marketing in 2009 will be a mixture of a new economy and a new breed of advertising options.
Internet Marketing of Old

Every year brings news ideas and new opinions to the Internet Marketing business. As the old internet marketers try to keep ahead of the game a sometimes try to influence there "lists" and subscribers, its hard to know exactly what the 2009 will bring. At least until the changes, if any, actually take place. What we , as internet marketers in 2009, need to do is take stock of situations that , either effect us directly, or effect us through the types of companies and agencies we utilize in our daily business activities.

Internet Marketing 2009

Some things that can effect internet marketing 2009 are:

1. Yahoo's new CEO.
2. Ebays new terms of service and new list pricing.
3. The economy.
4. As always, advances in information technology.
5. New countries involved in trade markets, (like Colombia)
6. A possible Google backlash. (Talk usually leads to action)
7. Video Marketing will take over.
8. Social Networks will monetize traffic more effectively
9. Better quality. (The market will be as competitive as ever)
10. Faster response times. (The market will be as competitive as ever, I know, I just said that)

With the recession, there is expected to be an increase in all things pertaining to the "work at home" industry. People that have never really thought of using the internet to make money will gravitate to secondary income opportunities that the internet can provide. So, even though it might seem like the money will be tight, there should be a rise in informational products and all the niches that support the "making money online" businesses.

This will bring a new wave of marketers, starting from the ground up. These new marketers will have major influence on the way the more experienced marketers campaign. Not only will there be an influx of the "over the top" promise makers, but there should also be a wave of outstanding advertising options by companies looking to outdo other companies.

Yahoo's New CEO

Carol Bartz has been brought in to clean house. Bartz has never worked for a company like Yahoo before, but she has made her name as a CEO of other companies. Companies that she turned around and turned into huge businesses. This could be something that shapes internet marketing in 2009 , if she can get Yahoo terned around, and do it fast. In her first week, Bartz, has already made a bold move. She recently put a freeze on Yahoo employee wages. Sighting the need to "focus on keeping costs in line with revenues". Good or bad it shows a CEO that is willing to really pull out all the stops.

Social Networking Evolves

Its hard deny that the average consumer will gravitate to cheaper forms of entertainment in 2009. The social network sites have been dominating web searches already , and when the recession takes its full effect here in a few months, and in the summer, people will most likely spend far more time enjoying all the games and activities, and videos , and everything else that myspace and facebook have to offer.

It will be no surprise , that when the need for traditional ads sink, the use of larger , more visited websites ,will be the choice of advertisers and internet marketers as a whole. It just makes sense that Facebook and Myspace have been headed this way for some time and that they will benefit from Internet marketing in 2009.

Internet Marketing 2009 will be about big changes. More big changes than in any other year. Major companies are bringing major changes. Mix these changes with the changes in the economy and there could be revolutionary ideas for internet marketing in 2009.

Those are just a few of my opinions for Internet Marketing 2009. I would love some feedback from anyone who has some real informative opinions. I love hearing new sides to the Internet Marketing story.
