Internet Explorer 9: Beta Version Released
The beta version of the web browser Internet Explorer 9 or IE9 has been released by Microsoft Corp.

Dean Hachamovitch, GM - IE said, "People go to the Web for site, not the browser. Today Web sites are boxed in, the box is the browser." Peter O'Neill, Analyst, Forrester Research said, "IE9's tight integration with Microsoft's Windows operating system, which runs on most of the world's PCs, enables IE9 to use a computer's hardware in a way that rival browsers cannot. This is going to make the Windows platform more attractive, and Microsoft hopes, help stop people from leaking away to other browsers." It is believed that the new features offered by Internet Explorer 9 will be beneficial and definitely exploited by major websites like Facebook, Amazon, eBay, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
Records of last month indicate that IE has a 50% market share, followed by Firefox with 31%, Chrome with 11%, Safari on 4%, and Opera about 2%. The latest version, Internet Explorer 9 is expected to push up IE's market share considerably, mainly by arresting the growth of Firefox which has eaten into a lot of IE's market share as of late. A point to note is that Internet Explorer 9 will not work on Windows XP, and it needs to be run on either Windows Vista or Windows 7 to operate.
