Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage
If you get the error message, 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage', there are various reasons for the same. We will now see the steps that can be taken to solve this problem.

How to Fix Cannot Display the Webpage Error on IE
When you get the above-mentioned error message, the first step you need to undertake is to try to open another webpage. You can use any website other than the current one you are trying to view. If you are able to view the new webpage then the problem does not lie with the Internet Explorer. The problem lies with the webpage you are trying to access. There are two possibilities - either the website is facing a problem or the site you are trying to reach is temporarily off-line. There can be some other issues with the website as well. In any case, you will have to get in touch with the administrator of the website.
If you are not able to view any of the webpages then you will have to undertake some other steps. The next step is to run the network diagnostics tool. To do this, go to Internet Explorer and try to access the webpage which is facing a problem. You will see the Diagnose Connection Problems link. Click on the link and the network diagnostics tool will run. After the tool has run, the problem is often detected and the tool will be able to guide you about the further steps that you need to undertake. Click on the IP address and make a note of it. This may be required for further troubleshooting. After you have followed all the steps mentioned in the troubleshooting steps, restart the Internet Explorer. If you get the same error message again, you will have to go to the next step.
The next step is to disconnect the modem from the computer by disconnecting the cable which connects the computer to the modem. Turn off the modem or the router and restart the computer. After the computer has been restarted, turn on the modem or the router. Thereafter, connect the cable, which you had disconnected, back to the computer and restart the computer. However, you will have to ensure that all the network cables are securely connected. After the computer has restarted, launch Internet Explorer.
If the previous step also does not help and you continue to get the same error message, you will have to delete browsing history. This will delete the temporary Internet files along with cookies and form data as well. You will have to go to the Tools tab in the menu of Internet Explorer and go to Internet options. There you will have to delete cookies, form data, history, temporary Internet files, etc. Close and restart the browser.
If the previous step also proves futile then you will have to use Internet Explorer in 'No Add-Ons' mode. To activate the 'No Add-Ons' mode, go to start button on bottom left corner of your desktop and click on All Programs. Click on Accessories and then on System Tools. There you will see the option Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) option. Click on it. Start Internet Explorer; by now, Internet Explorer may have started working. Then you will want to take steps to isolate the browser add-ons. Therefore, start Internet Explorer, go to Tools, then Internet Options, followed by Programs tab. At last, click on Manage Add-ons. Click on the add-on you see in the Name list and then click on Disable. Repeat the previous step till you are able to identify the add-on, which is creating the problem.
I hope, with this article you would be able to troubleshoot the problem you are facing. Only in some cases would advanced measures have to be taken to get rid of the problem.
