Internet Advertising Costs

New to the field of internet marketing and want to know more on the internet advertising costs? Here we give you an idea of the costs associated with different types of advertising.
Online advertising, also called internet advertising, is nothing but promoting your products online. The only difference between traditional forms of marketing and internet advertising is that the former does not use internet to market products, while the latter uses the world wide web to reach its audience. Moreover, the internet has a wider reach compared to the traditional forms of marketing. Now imagine a situation where you make a product and advertise it in the print media or electronic media. Imagine what would be the costs associated with it. On the other hand, if you are marketing your product on the internet, you can do it at a fraction of the cost which you would have otherwise spent on traditional forms of advertising.

Types of Internet Advertising

Article Marketing
If you are searching for avenues that won't cost you anything, but still want some results, article marketing is the way to go. In article marketing, you just need to write an article targeted towards your audience and submit them in article directories. The link which you provide in your article while submitting would direct to the product which you want to promote. It's a very effective method of marketing, but the only disadvantage is that it takes time to show results.

Email Advertising
Email advertising involves sending emails to targeted consumers after getting them from various websites. The chances of you getting a response in this email marketing varies as there are chances that the emails you sent may not be the kind of audience you want to target, thereby wasting your time and effort.

Search Engine Marketing
Search engine marketing involves creating an advertisement of a couple of lines and you choose certain keywords, which if the end user searches, your advertisement would be visible. This is the most cost-effective way of advertising as you pay only if the user clicks on your ad. Search engine involves certain other concepts like Pay Per Click advertising, Cost Per Thousand (CPT), Cost Per Conversion, etc. Once you have got an idea of the different types of advertising, let's take a look at what are the internet marketing costs.

Average Internet Advertising Costs

Well, there is no fixed cost for marketing on the internet, and you can't predict what a particular keyword would cost today, and what the same keyword would cost tomorrow. If you want to go for advertising on a particular site, you can directly get in touch with the website and get their media kit or rate card.

Usually, the costs of internet advertising are either expressed in Cost Per Click (CPC) or Cost Per Thousand Impression (CPM). The rates are lower if you target those advertising places or keywords compared to those keywords which are generally searched for by audiences. You may have to shell out anything between US $0.25 to 2, if you are targeting those keywords which are very generic. Let me give you an example here. Say you are a loan provider and you want to advertise your services. You want your ad to appear to audiences who type the keyword 'car loan'. If a user types the keyword 'car loan' in any of the search engines, a list of advertisements appear on the sponsored links, and you as an advertiser can choose to be one of them. However, this keyword is highly competitive and you may have to pay US $10 to 20 or even more each time your ad clicked. On the other hand, you choose the keyword 'cheap car loan', a keyword which is not that competitive, the chances of you getting a higher rank is higher, and you may just need to pay US $1 or 2 or even less every time your ad is clicked.

Internet advertising has today gained so much popularity that everyone is looking to market their products online and gain maximum profits out of it. There are no fixed costs and they tend to vary, on the medium you choose and the keywords you target.
