Intermittent Fasting Diet
The intermittent fasting diet is actually a pretty old way of eating, but has really started to gain some attention with a recent study that has come out. It has shown that eating like this will allow you to lose weight. It's a pretty exciting time to find a diet, long before it ever hits the public eye. I wanted to take the time and do a little research on your behalf to see if this is the real deal.
What is an intermittent fasting diet?
The whole idea about this diet is to eat, fast, eat. You are given the threshold of 24hrs to eat anything you want, as much as you desire, even if it is fattening. The next 24hrs, you're going to eat nothing. You just get the basics like water. Than the next 24hrs, you're back to eating again and this cycle repeats.
Just so you're not thinking this is a temporary starvation diet, you will end up eating just as much as you regularly do. During the one day you get to eat, you'll end up eating a typical two days worth of food.
Research
If you're looking for weight loss, than this diet has statistically shown this over and over again. People are losing weight right now following such a diet. People that participated in this study that had other health issues saw vast improvement. As well, it was believed that people would live long for this very fact.
Is it natural?
If you look at how the caveman ate, I think it gives a much better look at what is really "natural". Eating two or three meals a day every single day just doesn't seem natural. If you look at the caveman, they probably ate when they caught a big animal and went without when they didn't.
If you go by that, it would appear to be the most logical way of eating. As we evolved as human beings, we would eaten a very similar diet to intermittent fasting. There wasn't always food around for us to eat, so we'd have times where we'd be forced to go without. Eating like this may bring out some of our best human abilities like metabolism that can really help lead to weight loss and other such benefits.
Even though the science is relatively new on this, I think it shows a lot of promise. Going on an intermittent fasting diet can be a very good experiment for many people to try out.
Doing this diet safely is important, so I recommend you get a copy of Eat Stop Eat which will walk you through all the necessary parts of doing this diet. You don't want to end up doing something wrong and hurting yourself.
