Interior Paint Ideas
The following article suggests some of the most useful interior paint ideas, which are sure to help you out in choosing the right colors for your house. Read on...

Area of the House to be Painted
The choice of paint colors depends upon the area of the house to be painted. The reason being that colors leave their own impact on the human mind. Colors such as red, maroon, dark brown and orange, which are referred to as warm colors, tend to lend energy to the environment. This makes them a good choice for living rooms, where people undertake their social activities and a not so good choice for bedrooms, where people relax and sleep!
Wall colors for bedrooms can include blue, green and white as they soothe and calm the mind. As for the colors for dining room are concerned, yellow, golden and red, which make the room look bright and cozy, all at once, are a good option. Some colors such as blue, pink, purple and violet are known to suppress the appetite of a person so they should be avoided in dining rooms.
Theme for the Room/House
One of the modern ideas, which is fast catching up, is to first decide upon a theme for a room or the entire house and then choose the paint colors, furniture, fabric, etc, accordingly. For example, if you opt for a "Nature" theme, the obvious choice would be green and some earthy colors like terracotta and brown. Some of the other popular themes for home decorating are "Victorian", "Cottage", "Mediterranean", "Traditional", "French Country" and "English Country".
Size of the Room
Consider the size of the room, before choosing the paint colors. For instance, if the living room is small, painting it with warm colors will make it appear even smaller. In such a scenario, lighter shades like white, light blue and green would be ideal as these give the illusion of a larger space than it actually is.
A Bit of Creativity...
Experimenting with the colors that you finally choose, will add an all together different aura to the surroundings. Some of the creative wall painting ideas that can be considered include having an accent wall, i.e. painting any one of the walls in the room with a dark color and painting the rest with a lighter one, getting a number of different geometric shapes drawn on one of the walls and then getting them painted in bold contrasting colors, and finally, getting either horizontal lines or polka dots painted on the ceiling (use this tip only if the ceiling height is more). For those of you who would like to add a bit of drama and awe to their home interiors, painting the ceiling in dark accent colors while keeping the wall color light is another unique idea.
Here's hoping that these interior paint ideas will come handy when you set out to paint your house. One last idea before I sign off - whatever colors you finally choose, remember to try a sample on the wall before starting with the paint job. This will ensure that you do not ever go wrong with your paint color choices!
