Mexico has two mountain ranges crossing it to its north and south. The Sierra Madre Oriental and Sierr Madre Occidental cross Mexico to the north and the south respectively. These ranges are a extenstion of the Rocky Mountain. The country is crossed by a Trans-Mexican volcanic belt from the east and west at the center. Mexico also has a fourth mountain range that runs from Michoacan to Oaxaca, the Sierra Madre De Sur.
In Mexico, areas with elevation up to a thousand meters have a yearly temperature between twenty four degrees Celcius to twenty eight degrees Celcius. These temperatures remain high throughout the year, give or take a five degrees Celcius difference between the summer and winter temperatures.
The low lying areas are humid and hot during the summer. They have a temperature averaging twenty degrees Celcius to twenty four degrees celcius. The larger cities in the Valley of Mexico has a year long average temperature of sixteen to eighteen degrees Celcius.
