You should talk to your child about the importance of honesty and trust frequently and help him understand your point of view. You should explain your point in detail, by giving examples of honesty and truth, and how it helped the people who followed these principles. Also prove him that speaking lies and deceiving others can ruin one's life and plans, as no one trusts people who lie.

Give your child some useful lessons about the worship and devotion to God. Explain in detail how God is in every person and blesses only those who follow the good principles and do not do things that are wrong in life. Tell stories of great people in history who are known for their values, and their sayings and thoughts based on the almighty. Also teach them how to pray to God.

Apart from the above mentioned values, honor and respect, teaching values of cleanliness, co-operation, tolerance, understanding and situation handling sense, peace, spirituality, integrity, maintaining healthy lifestyle and good overall behavior, are the most vital values essential for child development. Your child will be interacting with many people at different places everyday - so politeness, co-operation and tolerance are of prime importance. You should yourself explain the ways of talking and winning the other person's confidence. Observe the way your child behaves when he is with his friends and bring to his notice - any flaws or mistakes made by him. Use simple and polite language yourself, as children tend to imitate people around them. Teach him, by giving instances how loyalty, compassion and wholeheartedness is good for all people. Cleanliness habits, nondiscrimination, importance of unity, principles of modesty and giving due respect to elders are some more values, which you need to teach children at a very young age.
