Insert IUD and forget about normal life

Nowadays there is a chance to choose any method of birth control you like – from natural family planning until surgical tubal ligation or vasectomy. Each birth control method has its advantages and risks; however, one of the most dangerous for woman health is intrauterine device or IUD.
IUD – is a flexible device, which gynecologist inserts into woman’s uterus through the vagina. There are two types of IUD – hormonal (Mirena IUD), and non-hormonal (Copper or paraguard IUD). The difference between them is that the first one releases hormones such as progesterone, and the second one contains copper. Both types guarantee the efficiency of 99% and do not have any influence on libido, more to say, this birth control is long lasting - once you insert copper IUD, you will remove it after 12 years (Mirena IUD after 5 years). Therefore, because of all mentioned advantages IUD took the first place among all methods of birth control. However, everything is not as perfect as it’s believed to be…

More and more women experience side effects that come after the insertion of IUD. Firstly, many women state that it is very painful to insert IUD. Secondly, after the insertion it comes time to forget about normal life. Pain in abdomen, back or pelvic becomes normal in your daily life. Moreover, do not believe that painkillers will help to reduce this pain!

Have you ever had panic attacks or depression? Believe me, IUD will help you to acquaint with these feelings. You will become moody and very irritable. Bear in mind, that IUD won’t relieve cramps, pain and bleeding during menses, won’t help to get rid of PMS (or PMT), it will increase all these feelings! In addition, many women say that the gain weight.

More to say, IUD do have an influence on your sex drive – many women have noticed that their sexual activity became passive.

Still think that IUD is a miracle among birth control methods? Here is one more fact about IUD – it brings complicated and sometimes even impossible impregnation. It means that after you remove IUD, it will be very difficult to get pregnant, because it causes scar tissue to form in the uterus, preventing baby being implanted.

So, think twice before choosing this method of birth control.
