Infrared sauna therapy is a 30 to 45 minutes therapy that makes you fresh and energetic. Many people prefer to go for an infrared sauna therapy first thing in the morning. A few of the health benefits of infrared sauna therapy are the following.
- Skin Rejuvenation - One of the benefits of infrared sauna therapy is the rejuvenation of skin. Infrared sauna therapy could be used to treat acne, eczema, psoriasis and other skin problems. Infrared sauna therapy helps in detoxification of your body through enhanced sweating. Sweating removes the toxic chemicals from the body.
- Hyperthermia - Infrared sauna therapy is sometimes used on people with low body temperature. People with low body temperature are prone to chronic infections in areas of body such as sinuses, eyes, ears, throat, intestines and bladder. The infrared therapy used on people with low body temperature is also known as fever therapy. The temperature of the body is increased to a certain level to enable the body to fight against bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites.
- Exercise Benefits - Many of the benefits one derives from various strenuous exercises could be provided by infrared sauna therapy. Regular use of infrared sauna therapy enhances blood circulation and also oxidation of the body tissues. Studies show, using infrared sauna therapy could help in reducing high blood pressures, arthritis and allergies.

Infrared sauna therapy is best done under supervision. Initially use this therapy only for 20 minutes once a day. Gradually, you could increase the timing to 40 minutes. However, if you are sensitive to heat begin the infrared sauna therapy with 15 minutes a day.
You should rest for at least fifteen minutes after an infrared sauna therapy session. Take a shower and relax for some more time. This allows the body to readjust to the atmospheric temperature. Children and pregnant women should avoid infrared sauna therapy.
If you are under some medication, you can continue the same even while undergoing an infrared sauna therapy. However, your medical practitioner should be aware of your therapy.
Initially, do not use infrared sauna therapy for more than once a day. Your body has to get adjusted to the therapy. So slowly increase the heat and the amount of therapy time.
