Infertility in women is a serious and frustrating problem. There are numerous reasons which can lead to infertility and many of these are curable. Endometriosis
In endometriosis, the endometrial tissue grows outside the uterus. This endometrial tissue generally forms inside the uterus and is shed in the monthly period. However, the endometrial tissues, also called endometrial implants, are formed on the uterus and can be found anywhere on the uterus, ovaries, vagina, cervix and bladder. Endometriosis affects women in their reproduction years. To prevent infertility due to endometriosis, it is advisable to avoid delayed pregnancy. There are many other reasons for endometriosis. The symptoms of endometriosis are as follows:
  • Painful menstruation
  • Repeated miscarriages
  • Excessive bleeding during periods
  • Severe pelvic pain
  • Painful intercourse

Ovulation Problems
Ovulation problems includes malfunctioning of the reproductive system of women. Ovulation problems can arise from malfunctioning of hypothalamus, adrenal glands, thyroid glands, genital organs and pituitary glands. Any of these organs, if not functioning properly, can cause ovulation problems. The symptoms of these problems are as follows:
  • Absent periods
  • Excessive bleeding in periods
  • Light or very less bleeding as compared to normal

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Polycystic ovary syndrome is a type of cyst that grows in the ovaries. These types of cysts are many times responsible for the infertility in women. Other types of cysts are generally not responsible for the infertility. Hormonal imbalance is a major cause of polycystic ovary syndrome. The symptoms of this syndrome are as follows:
  • Weight gain
  • Excessive and abnormal hair growth
  • Irregular periods

PIDs and STDs
Pelvic inflammatory diseases and sexually transmitted diseases are responsible for blocked fallopian tubes in women. The sperm is not able to enter the uterus and meet the egg, which leads to infertility. Sexually transmitted diseases are usually caused due to sex with multiple partners and they also lead to infertility.
