Inexpensive Centerpiece Ideas
A centerpiece is an ornamental object placed at the center of a table with the sole motive of elating the arrangement of food. It is also true that it is not feasible to spend too much on these decorations. So, the organizers/decorators have to come up with their own creative and inexpensive centerpiece ideas. If the party is an evening time affair, then the centerpieces have to also act as a source of light. Whereas if the party takes place in daylight or there are some other light sources, the centerpieces can be decorated differently.

Flowers are the best idea for inexpensive centerpieces in both, decorative as well as inexpensive way. Depending on the occasion, intention, location and theme of the party, the flowers and surrounding ornamentation are determined. Also, another important point to be kept in mind while deciding on the centerpiece is the size and shape of the table. Care should be taken that the centerpiece should not occupy a lot of space and that the rest of the cutlery should fit comfortably on the table. Other materials that are commonly used in the decoration of centerpieces are glass or porcelain vases, ornamental rocks, ribbons, candles, sparkles, etc.

Few Simple and Inexpensive Centerpiece Ideas

This is the most simplest and inexpensive table centerpiece idea. In a shallow, somewhat flat bowl/dish of glass (this bowl/dish can be decorative or designed) fill water up to three-forth of the brim. Add a few drops of colored liquid like colored ink in it, mix it to make it look uniform and place a scented, light-weighted candle in the center. Place daisy flowers around the candle. The whole flower arrangement will be floating. You can add some sparkle powder in the water. The colored-water will look more beautiful when the candle is lighted.

If the party takes place in the daytime, and the room is flooded with enough sunlight, then using light-colored decorations will create an elegant effect. Use of yellow, baby pink, lavender, and all such light colors for the ornamentation of the table centerpiece will reflect the natural light perfectly, producing a vivid mood around the table. Since many wedding decorations are sober, light-colored centerpieces will make great inexpensive wedding centerpiece ideas.

Cream and red have an exquisite impression when combined in any way. The velvety cream color when blended with the majestic red can result in an imperial evening centerpiece design. Petals of cream and red-colored rose when arranged around a square candle, which is wrapped artistically with a red satin/silk ribbon, will not need anything else to complement the 'romantic' centerpiece.

A very colorful idea for a centerpiece would be to place 3 - 4 different bright-colored flowers in a flat dish, with a single round-shaped candle at the center. Be sure that each decorative piece i.e. each flower, the candle and ribbons (if used) employed should be of different color. In contrast to the previous design suggestion, you can also use all the decoration pieces of the same color. You can make the flowers, candle, ribbons and the rest of the design items to match the tablecloth and/or the cutlery color.

If the table is too small, and you cannot afford to spread the centerpiece too much, arrange a vase with short, excellent-perfumed, and brightly colored flowers. Spray a few water droplets on the petals or sprinkle a little same-colored or contrast-colored sparkle powder over it. If the table is only for two and people are to be seated facing each other, avoid having tall vase or flowers that may block the visibility of the people at the table. For a big table with many people sitting across and next to each other, use of tall vases with tall stemmed flowers looks neat.

Christmas centerpieces ideas can include the decorations that you use on the Christmas tree. Surrounding a star-shaped candle with candies, cherries, Christmas tree leaves and a Santa or an angel sitting in them, will be an inexpensive and nice centerpiece. Using bright-colored vegetables and fruits for centerpieces also looks great.

You can make use of some decorative shrub leaves from your backyard flower garden to come up with inexpensive centerpiece ideas of your own. This will add a natural look to the centerpiece. With so many varied designs of glassware, flowers and candles, it is very easy to make a great centerpiece by combining one with many.
