Indoor Games for Small Groups
There are occasions of small get-togethers, there are times of small business meetings and there are days when your children call a few of their friends at home. All of these occasions are, in some way, very similar. You need to arrange for some interesting activities for all of them. Any small get-together, if supplemented with fun games and activities, makes a wonderful celebration for you and your guests. None of the smallest of gatherings is complete without games. If it is an indoor get-together or a meeting, you need to plan indoor games, and the word 'indoor' seems to restrict the planning! But it only seems so. There are certain indoor games for small groups, which are sure to become enjoyable if planned well. Here are some suggestions for indoor games for small groups.

Bid it Right: You will need to get some articles from the market or use the small ones from you house. You can use stationary items, grocery item packets or any other creatively chosen articles. Give each person a pen and paper and keep the items for display. Make sure the price tag on any of the items is not visible to the participants. Ask each of them to guess the price of each of the items on display. Keep an allowed range for deviation. The one who guesses most of the prices right is the winner!

Hide-n-Seek - The Unusual Way: Ask one in the group to hide in a safe place. Now ask the others to begin finding the hidden member. The one who finds the member first hides with that person. The one who finds them joins them! This continues till the last one in the group finds all of his/her hidden group-mates. This indoor game can become even more exciting if played during the night.

Mind Games: Frame some funny or intelligent questions to ask each one in the group. Be creative but not too personal. Keep a rapid-fire round, wherein each participant has to give quick answers. You can play a mind game, in which one participant says something and the next one responds with the first thing that comes to his/her mind. Weave-a-word is another good option of an indoor game for small groups. The group stands in a circle. The first one starts with a letter and the next suffixes another letter in order to complete a valid spelling. Every person tries to extend the word to make sure the word does not end at him/her. On similar lines, you could also have a game of weaving a story. Start with a line and let the others extend in order to make a story. The imaginative minds of the lot are sure to turn a small idea into an interesting story.

Sandwich making: Ask the participants to sit in a line. Place a loaf of bread, a bottle of jam or sauce and a knife at each one’s place. The game is about making sandwiches. The person who makes the maximum number of sandwiches in the stipulated time is the undoubted winner.

Why: Divide the group into two small teams. Give each member of both the teams a pen and paper. Ask all the members of one team to write random questions starting with 'why'. Each member of the opposite team writes random sentences that begin with ‘because’. Once this is done, each member spells out his/her question. His opponent in the other team spells his/her answer. As both the things were written in a random manner, the question-answer pairs are bound to be hilarious.

Mind games and those, which create fun, can be used as icebreakers for formal meetings. Some of the above games best suit small parties and family functions while some may suit well for the kids. Be creative to device good indoor games depending on the age group and the interests of the people in the group. Pick any of the indoor games from above or design your own. I am sure, your guests will return home with a smile on their faces.
