Chapter 9- I'm lost

I don't know exactly where I am but I knew one thing, I was definitely lost. I was probably at the basement floor now, the lighting here was very poor that it would flicker on and off in which it reminded of a horror movie scene that I watched last week.

At the end of this hall, I could see another passage which would force me to only turn right. OK, this had to lead me somewhere... why is this hallway so long and dark?

BAM!

I turned around, to hear a loud noise echo behind me. Oh my GOD, what was that? And as I listen carefully, I could hear the dripping of a water somewhere distant... OK, this is reminding me too much of a horror movie. First there's this scary unfamiliar sound, the lights are flickering, and banging noises... damn you Sarah, why couldn't you just come with me to my home room?

BAM!

I hear the noise again.

This time I started sprinting to the end of this hallway. As I was about to turn, I smashed right into something.

A white flash came across my eyes, and I place my left hand on my face as I cry in agony.

"OW!" I hear a deep voice that sounds like a guy respond.

As I focus my vision, a dark outline of a guy appears. His face looked familiar, I wonder where I've seen it before, I thought, but I couldn't exactly remember where I've seen him, I wonder if we met before?

"Oh my god," I place my hand on his shoulders, "Are you OK? I'm so sorry!"

It was dark, but I faintly remember this familiar face, he was tall, muscular, but in the dark I couldn't exactly see his face, only the outlines of it.

"No, no, I'm fine, are you OK? You're half my size, I'm sure I did some damage on you."

He sounded genuinely worried and I laughed thinking that a stranger was worried about me.

"OH, I'm good... don't worry, I'm pretty clumsy and I usually end up getting myself hurt, somehow, somewhere," in the dark, I could see him looking worried, "Don't worry," I laughed, "I'm totally fine, every body part still seems like its intact!"

In the dark hallway, I could faintly see an outline of a smile cross this stranger's face.

"Thank goodness, I would feel bad if I hurt a girl. When we collided, I swear, I heard you scream in agony but if you said you're OK, that's great to hear. Oh, yeah, how rude of me, let me introduce myself, I'm Liam, and you are...? "

Wow, that name sounded very familiar... I tried to remember the guys I've met since I've been here.

Liam... Liam, why does that name sound very important?

A flashback came to me, as I remembered the scene in the courtyard with the 5 men in black suit and, THAT GUY, the guy who everybody was screaming about, he was there, dressed in a black cardigan and jeans!

This is THAT Liam Jayden guy!

OH MY GOSH, this is REALLY the guy in the courtyard that everyone was ogling about?!

"Is everything OK?" he asks me with a worried face.

"Oh sorry," I said as I came back to present time, "I was just thinking of something else. I'm Karina," I took my right hand out to shake his hand, he gripped my hand and released it.

"I'm new here." I said.

I think my sentence came out right...I mean, I'm still shocked that Liam Jayden is in front of me... those fan girls, I thought, would die to be standing where I'm at right now.

"OH, were you looking for something? How'd you end up here?" He asks.

"Um, I was looking for my home room, but ... one thing lead to another, I turned left, right, then down some cases of stairs, then walked through another hallway... and here I am.... lost in this dark hallway"

Liam lets out a small laugh, " It seems like your first day was... very adventurous. Well, you don't have to worry anymore since you found me now, I'll help you find you're way"

My heart skipped a beat, he was such a gentleman... my first impression of him was some snobby rich kid... but he proved to be a genuinely nice guy. No wonder everybody loved him.

We started walking again, and finally, he leads me out of the dark creepy hallway that we were in.

"Where are you from?" He asks.

"Alaska, it's far up north."

"Did you move here because you're family moved away or...?"

"No, I moved here by myself to my best friend's house"

"Oh, that's exciting, so how do you like being here so far?"

"Amazing, compared to my old life back home... it's like a gazillion times better"

We started small talk about my life back home, regular sports that we played, and snowboarding. I was so into the conversation that I forgot to tell him where my homeroom was.

"Hey, um, do you know where were going?" I interrupt our conversation.

"We're heading to room 405, home room teacher Mrs. Debrais? 11 A? Aren't we?"

I only remembered that my homeroom was 11A, and to my astonishment, he knew who my homeroom teacher was and what homeroom set I was in and I don't remember ever telling him.

"Uh, yeah, WOW... how'd you know?"

Before he could answer, I could see Sarah screaming and running towards me from down the hallway.

"OH MY GOSH, where were you?! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" Sarah screamed, "Honestly, I knew I shouldn't have left you alone, I was so nervous... knowing how bad you are with directions, I don't know what got me thinking that you could find your way in this school! Geezus!"

She pulls me in for a long hug, "Gosh, don't worry me like that!"

I smiled, "Yeah, sorry," as I pull away from the hug, "I kind-of got lost...but I think I'm back on course again."

Sarah looks at me and to Liam, "Thank you for finding this lost dog, how'd you find her?"

I turn my head to face Liam, he was taller than I expected. I never really got a chance to look at him up close and check him out because I was too absorbed in our conversation but he was like a super model, with great looks.

He had a beautiful jaw, dark brown hair, very defined cheek bones, broad chest and shoulders, and lastly, with his tanned skin and light turquoise eyes... I would define him as a god. I couldn't believe that man-kind had a guy who looked like this... I couldn't take my eyes off him.

Liam smiles at Sarah and looks to me, "Well I found her at the basement near the..."

Someone interrupts Liam, "Young master, where have you been?! We've been searching all over for you, it's time to leave and get ready for tonight"

I recognized the black suit man, he was one of Liam's followers this morning after the assembly.

Liam sighed and smiles at Sarah and I, "Well, sorry, I've got to go. I'm glad your friend found you Karina, and I hope the rest of this afternoon you won't get lost again."

I smiled at him and waved good-bye, "Thanks for helping me, sorry for taking so much of your time."

Liam nods his head and starts walking down the hallway with the guy in the black suit following behind him shortly after.

As I watch him leave, I could feel my own two legs running after him.

As I was getting closer to him, I could feel my arm reaching out for his arm, and I finally had grip of his right arm with that surge of energy I felt within me, he finally stops in his place and turns around.

"Hey," I said breathlessly, "Am I ever going to see you again? I mean, since I should repay you for today" I ask.

I daze into his light turquoise blue eyes and watch a smile cross his face.

"I don't know next time when we see each other but when you do, you could repay me.Good-bye Karina and welcome to Dalia Academy."

And with that, he disappeared into the hallway.
