In Time

I'm not defeated!
I knew in time the grief would seize.
The agony would disperse,
The anguish would deplete.
But tell me: how does it feel to bare my heart?
How does it feel to carry my soul on your very palm?
I swore never to trust again,
I SWORE as tears streamed from my blood filled eyes!
Yet here I lie, invoked in you.
Amidst the warmth you give and the love suspended,
I stare blankly into the wall,
Wondering what I did to deserve life again.
You have made me live again.
You see, I had been convinced that people suffer because they wish to;
But now I know.
Everything changes,
Everything gradually gets better,
In time.
