In the Dark 10
Blair sees much more than meets the eye. What does it mean? Plz comment!
Nolan was leading since he seemed to know where to go. For me though, the ride was hell. I kept contemplating on how I got into this mess. I had a semi happy life and now here I am in the middle of a stupid war. What if I hadn't come here? What if I hadn't found my brother and my mom? There were too many what ifs. I had to be strong though. For Conrad. No matter what happens. I gave what I thought was a quiet sob. The last one I will ever shed for the death of my old life. Aidan heard me
"What's the matter, love?" He asked in a soothing tone as he relocated me from his back and into his arms. His face showed how genuinely he cared for me. Why, was still a mystery. But aside from that, he said I was his mate. I couldn't ignore that even if I wanted to. He said he loved me, so why couldn't I take that last step with him? I sure as hell didn't know, but I was willing to try.
"I love you." I whispered. Aidan smiled
"I love you too." He responded, hugging me into his chest.
We broke through a clearing. My stomach lurched with recognition. This was it. This was where Mom and Conrad were killed in my dream. This was the clearing that was full of corpses.
"Stop!" I yelled out. Immediately everyone put on the brakes. I pushed out of Aidan's arms and walked into the middle of the clearance. I surveyed the area. No part of it looked like a battle site. My brain replayed the fight. The weight of my dreams made me close my eyes. That's when it happened. I stood there seeing all the deaths that took place. One by one. A total massacre. Finally I got to Conrad, and his lifeless body. I stared at the exact spot his body had lain, and now there was nothing. He couldn't be dead. He is still alive now, barely, but still with me. That dream felt so real though. I could still feel his life running between my fingers. How could he have been dead then? Unless... It hadn't happened yet. Oh my. A tear escaped my eye. Conrad is going to die. Another thought came. Mom will too, and by Dad's hand. That means Dad is still alive.
This was way too much info for my brain to process. I was afraid it would shut down from the overload. That could not happen. I had more pressing issues to tend to, like the brother of my mine who is bleeding out in Nolan's arms. I turned back around to the others. They were all staring at me. I knew they would ask for an explanation, but I didn't feel like it giving it.
"Let's go." I said, walking toward Aidan. He opened his mouth to question me, but one look at my face stopped him. My eyes held a jaded glare that said clearly don't screw around with me. "We need to get Conrad to safety." I jumped into his arms and motioned for us onward.

Sorry I haven't been writing. I was recently out of town with no access to a computer. I am also severely injured and therefore need time to recuperate. Thanks for your understanding.
