Important Emergency Information to Leave at Home when Vacationing
Even if you are going on a vacation and want to get away from it all including friends and family, it is still important to leave some emergency information at home in case someone needs to contact you while you are away.
We love to take mini, spur of the moment vacations. We are famous to our friends and family to take a vacation day at the last minute and go away for a long weekend. Sometimes we don't even know where we are going or what we are going to do, we just know that we want to get away. One thing that we have learned is that we need to leave emergency information, such as a phone number, at home in our house or with someone we know in case someone would need to contact us.
Our friends and family are very important to us. However, there are a few that have a habit of tracking us down. We used to not let anybody know where we were going, but we discovered this was not a good idea when our car broke down in the middle of nowhere during a snowstorm and friends and family were worried but didn't know where we were.
Now, we always leave emergency information on our refrigerator that includes our cell phone, license plate number and information on where we are going. When we drive of on a vacation, not sure about where we are going to end up, we always call the same friend when we reach the destination to let her know where we are. Everyone knows that she will have our information and we know that she won't call us unless it is a real emergency.
Because anything can happen, it is always good to leave emergency information at home when you go on a vacation. Either keep it in a safe place at home or with a friend or family member that can be easily reached. We all want our privacy and to get away, but we need to be prepared in case of an emergency at the same time.
