When you have breakfast, it curbs hunger pangs and prevents binge eating later during the day. Research has shown, that when you have breakfast, a person eats fewer calories through the day, which helps in losing weight or maintaining the current weight.

Depending on your hunger levels and availability of food items at home, you can decide the kind of breakfast you want to have. However, make sure, you do not have carbohydrate ONLY breakfast. A carbohydrate only breakfast will lead to drastic increase in blood sugar levels, more so, if you have refined carbohydrates and then there will be significant drop in the blood sugar levels. Hence, have a breakfast, which has the optimum levels of carbohydrates, proteins and fiber in it.
One of the best nutritious breakfast is cereals, as they are fortified with minerals and vitamins and when had with low fat milk and a fruit, it makes for a complete meal in itself. If you can't have fruit with the cereals, then you may want to opt for sugar free fruit juices. You can also opt for whole grain bread and have it with eggs or with peanut butter and a glass of milk. When you are bored of eating similar kind of breakfast, then you can turn over to easy breakfast ideas and get some new ideas there.
It is recommended, that you take to healthy eating at breakfast as well, and limit the intake of sausages and bacon for breakfast. Replace it with mushrooms, eggs, tomatoes and baked beans, so that you also boost the intake of vitamins, minerals and fiber in your body. When you have time, you can also opt for healthy recipes and vary your daily breakfast. If you are not really hungry, then you can opt for low fat yogurt with fresh or dried fruits.
Now that we have understood the importance of breakfast, just as a parting short, remember breakfast should ideally be so designed that it provides about one quarter of the daily nutritional requirements of the body. Initially it may take time to inculcate the habit, but over a period of time, when you see the results, you will never want to skip breakfast again.
