Immortal Part 2
Same as the first.
Alika came forward, poking Lucius on his shoulder "um…important business to attend?" she whispered to his ear, lips barely brushing against them "sorry Cam, gotta go" he winked "alright au revoir" Cam replied; "come on" Alika’s sweet melodic voice faded into something more icy, she dragged him by his sleeve. "Remember our mission" she raised one fine brow "yes" he sighed, wishing to enjoy the ball and looking at all those plump veins.
We had to find him, and kill the guy. He was dishonorable, a disgrace to mine and Lucius’s kind. He was the host of the masquerade…for what information we got from our ‘snitch’ he told us that he would be in one of the rooms holding a conference. "Soon" I cooed in vengeance, Lucius just stared at me from the corner of his eye "calm down, we’ll find him" he squeezed my hand.
The man had murdered my little brother on the spot, the memory hadn’t been pleasant. ‘I waited for the kettle to boil, my little darling brother had light brown hair covering his big brown eyes. He watched the fire burning at the bottom of it "when’s it gonna be done Alika?" he asked wining "soon" I answered patting his head gently "I am thirsty, hurry up" he swat my hand "I’m not a doggy." "Why are you always so irritable, if you keep annoying me you can do it yourself then" I said, making a point as he tried reaching to the handle of the silver kettle but couldn’t reach it. "Fine, just hurry" he crossed his arms, pouting his lips. He left the kitchen area, ten minutes passed as the water came to a boil, I grabbed a wash cloth, covering the handle so the heat of it wouldn’t burn my hand. I lifted it and pulled it over the cup, pouring it out while hot steam encircled it, coming from both the cup and the small kettle. "Thomas!" hollering loudly "it’s ready!" I waited for his little body to appear mischievously, smiling and drinking that hot water down his throat then gasp screaming "it’s hot!"
Nothing, maybe he didn’t hear "Thomas!" I repeated once more, it was unlike him to take even a minute too long. I set the kettle on the table, coming out of the door I saw a man holding my little brother scruffily by the neck. The man’s eyes were as dark and fathomless as charcoal, his irises were darker making the outer part more gray looking. The man was tall, big, and looked…somehow like the devil. "Let go of me" Thomas struggled on his breath and his eyes slowly closing "who the hell are you, let go of him, you’re hurting him" I said and ran toward the man, hitting him with my arms. The man stayed silent, grinning, wickedly. "Let go of Thomas!" I screamed…this wouldn’t work, I looked around quickly and remembered…dad’s gun…yes that’ll work.
I ran to the doors making slick turns and went inside the tool shed. "Damn it! Where can it be" wait, there it is. I grabbed it, and ran fast carrying the gun to where the man was. When I returned it was too late, he disappeared, leaving a small boy leaning against the wall, looking sickly pale and dead. "Thomas" I cried, sinking to my knees I grabbed his body and cradled his small, little body. "Oh Thomas" I hid my face in his as small tears trickled down mine, sliding onto his unmoving pale face.’ She shuddered from the memory, coming back to reality she winced at the last image. "You alright Alika" Lucius tugged at her hand; his blue, dark eyes were filled with concern and slowly melting into hers "I’m fine" lying.
