I'm Only Human

Cats have a mind of their own. These intelligent creatures are proud and arrogant. Yet, they are the most amusing and loving pets. Once an owner of a cat, you have to bow down to the wimps and fancies of His/Her Majesty!!
I have found this poem on the internet while surfing and the poet has managed to pen the exact words I had in my mind. The poet has explained a feeling that is mutual among all cat owners. I would like to share it with all cat lovers. Unfortunately, the poet who has penned the thoughts is unknown! I dedicate this poem to my loving tom-cat, "Peppers".

Because I'm only human,
it's sometimes hard to be the wise,
All knowing creature
that my cat expects of me.

And so I pray for special help,
to somehow understand
The subtle implications,
Of each proud miaowed command.

Oh, let me not forget that chairs
were put on earth to shred;
And what I like to call a lap
is actually a cat-bed.

I know it's really lots to ask
but please, oh please, take pity;
And though I'm only human,
make me worthy of my kitty!

After reading this poem I am sure, all the cat owners will have a smile on their faces and thoughts about their feline friends. Though I am not a poet myself, but I surely do appreciate good poems as the one above. I hope all we mere human cat owners do become worthy of our loving cats!
