I'm Getting By

I am here,
I am me,
I am all I can be.

I stand still,
I stand tall,
I stand through it all.

I laugh,
I shrug,
I live and I love.

I smirk,
I smile,
I grin for a while.

I sit,
I slouch,
I slump down on the couch.

I sleep,
I dream,
I tear through the seams.

I mumble,
I mope,
I am able to cope.

I resound,
I bound,
I will come around.

Know who you are,
Know where you stand,
Know when it's time,
To act like a man.

Know what you've been,
Know your mistakes,
Know when to give,
And know when to take.

I am a person,
I am imperfect,
I am a guy,
But I'm getting by.
