Il Sangue Bevitore - Chapter 3
Sorry, it took me so long to get up. My laptop recently broke, so I am having trouble writing. As you all know by the last few chapters, the title means "The Blood Drinker" in Italian.
Chapter 3 - Distractions
I woke up lying on the old leather couch by myself. Aaren wasn't in the room, just me. Mum wasn't here either. I got up and checked the house, no one was here. I opened the front door to find an army of vampire hunters standing around the safe house. I turned around to find Malakai standing behind me smiling at the fact he has finally got me. Aaren was in scattered pieces in front of the army, 20 meters away and November was lying lifeless in a hunter's arms beside Malakai.
I sat bolt upright, breathing heavily and grasping the side of the couch. "November." I breathed, and raced into the spare bedroom to find her sound asleep in her crib. I felt relieved, but where's Aaren? I raced back out into the kitchen to find him having a coffee with mum. "You made it!" I cried while throwing myself at my mother. She held me tight, "I told you I would! You need to stop worrying girly!" She giggled and let me go, I then hugged Aaren tight and he kissed me on the forehead. "What did you say to Malakai?" I asked mum letting go of Aaren. "I answered the door, he asked where you were, I said I hadn't seen you in months, that you ran off with Aaren and November somewhere north, he thanked me and apologized for yelling, and proceeded north."
Mum smiled and I let out a sigh of relief. "Thank god." I breathed and slumped over to the couch in the lounge room and had a little rest, while listening to the antique radio beside the arm of the couch on a little table. "An angry mob of people have been heading north towards Sydney. They had been interviewed but the leader of the mob refused to answer any questions, police have advised to keep away from this mob, as they are armed and dangerous." I sat back up again and looked directly at mum standing behind the couch. "This isn't good. The police can't get involved, this is how the last war between the supernatural world and the real world happened. The human race was nearly wiped off the planet," she frowned and started fidgeting her thumbs.
"What happened? Who saved the humans?" Aaren asked before I got the chance, "Haviana's great grandfather stopped it. The hunters were after him because he was the leader of all colonies, and still is. The humans got involved with the fight and were losing. Your grandfather possesses great powers, he wiped the battle memory from every human in the world. Everybody just went back to being normal."
We went quiet and took all the information in. "So... That means if the police get involved, there's going to be another war?" I swallowed hard at the end of this question, mum nodded. "We have to do something," Ordered Aaren. "Thousands of people are going to die and the future of the world is going to screw up unless we get Haviana's grandfather to stop them." He was right. We can't let the human race die because of our mistakes.
Mum agreed as well. "I'll call my uncle and see what his opinion is." Mum pulled her mobile out of her pocket and began dialing. She lifted the phone to her ear and we waited in silence. "Ace, It's Bellamae, have you seen or heard the news?" There was a long pause. "Uh huh... Okay." Aaren and I exchanged worried looks. "Yes, the safe house... Okay... see you soon." She hung up the phone and placed it back in her pocket and we waited for her to answered our unasked questions. "He's on his way, he'll be here in about half an hour." It must be a big problem if he has to come here all the way from Cairns. So we sat and waited for Ace to arrive.
