If I Didn't Already Say Thank You

Every interaction has a purpose. I have learned well because of many who opposed, corrected and encouraged me in time. Their remedial measures may have seemed harsh then, but have made a huge difference to my life. Thank you...
If I Didn't Already Say Thank You
Thanks for being hard on me and teaching me how to live well
Thank you for the guiding hand, on rough road and every swell.

I thank you for kind words when decisions I made proved wrong
Thanks for the pat on my back when I sang a meaningful song.

Thank you for being the light in every alley too dark for me
God bless for the encouragement as I fell and scraped a knee.

And, I want to thank you for being ever so cross and rude
Teaching me how others felt when my remarks were lewd.

Thank you my friend for repaying me in kind for hurtful deed
That in remembrance I may be sensitive to another's need.

You are the greatest gift of God to me, a reflection of his love
You are my prayer for renewal and the answer from above.

Accept my thanks and set me free that I may live to tell
The goodness of corrected thought, before I hear the knell.
