Identifying your dream job

Working in a job you enjoy makes life much easier. This article reminds us to look within, and consider not only our skills, but also our interests and passions when searching for our dream job.
Remember your childhood? You should have had rosy future plans and a great career ambition. But see where you are today. Have you realized your childhood dream? Sorry to say, most of have not. But why, simply because we tend to give up what we are passionate about doing, and settle down to an occupation which gives only economic stability. But will it give you long term satisfaction? Highly unlikely.

Do not worry. You still have the opportunity to change it all over again. The only thing you need is determination and perseverance to be what you want to be.

Let us now discuss what you should do to identify your dream job. Sit down in a quite place and start thinking about yourself
Discover the natural abilities within you
Try to think of your natural abilities, the things which you tend to do effortlessly. Generally these are gifts that you inherit as opposed to skills you developed with practice. For instance think of your college days you may have excelled at dancing. Of course now you may not be able to perform as a dancer but still you can engage in something related to your natural dancing talent such as dancing costume design.

Identify your passion

This refers to the things you were interested in doing from your childhood. Let me tell you a story of a person who changed her destiny by identifying her passion. Amy Nichols was an Account Manger sometime back at Verizone with a highly attractive salary and other perks But still she found something missing in her life. She realized career progression in the telecommunications industry is not what she envisioned for her future. Identifying her passion for dogs she started thinking of a way which can make her a living while engaged in something she liked from the bottom of her heart. Then came that "AHA" moment in her life where the idea of her own dogs day care business came to her mind. The rest as they is history and today she is the proud CEO of the Dogtopia, a successful dogs daycare franchise.

Like Amy Nicolas, I’m sure everyone of us has that burning passion inside our bodies, although hidden, to engage in what we like. But how many of us dare to go beyond and make it a reality?
Fear of change, the societal opinion and upbringing as well as obligations in our life, financial or otherwise prevent ourselves from pursuing our own passion. So we remain what we think we supposed to be in our life and in the worst case what others think we supposed to be.

But if you carefully observe, any person who has taken up her own way of life has succeeded only due to determination and perseverance.

The bottom line here is that nothing is impossible. And remember, we live in this world for a limited period, so enjoy your time!
