Ideas for Wedding Decor

Wedding decorations is one of the easiest categories to cut back on for budget considerations. However, every bride wants to have the beautiful wedding of her dreams. How can you mesh these two seemingly opposite ideas together to create a beautiful wedding on a smaller budget? Inexpensive, yet classic decorations are the answer. You don’t need to spend a fortune to decorate for your ceremony or reception. After all, your wedding is really just a big party. When you think of it that way, it’s much more fun to decorate.

Are you having a casual or more formal wedding? The decorations should reflect the style and atmosphere of the type of wedding you want. Flowers are the traditional and obvious choice for wedding decorations. Try thinking outside the box with your wedding floral decorations if you choose to have flowers. Potted seasonal bulbs such as tulips or daffodils are lovely for a spring wedding. The pots can be spray painted to match the wedding colors or a coordinating metallic color, making lovely gifts as well as decorations. Silk flowers are another choice that can be much less expensive and yet almost indistinguishable from the real thing. Choosing local and seasonal flowers can greatly decrease your expenses and look amazing for a wedding at almost any time of year. Candles are another classic choice that are inexpensive yet very impressive when grouped with ribbon or mirrors.

Candle rings (the small wreaths made of flowers or raffia that go around the base of a candle) can be perfect doubling as pew decorations and then with candles at your reception. Monograms are another clever pew decoration choice that can also be used to decorate for the reception. While bows are the traditional choice of decorations for pews, small flowers, birds or butterflies made of feathers, seashells, heart sachets, or even ornaments can all be successfully used to give a celebratory ambiance to your wedding. To decorate the entrance to your wedding, consider using topiaries or sparkle trees on either side of the door. Even artificial plants with white lights can look festive to set the tone of your wedding.

Decorating around the pulpit of your wedding venue is often a difficult task for brides. Instead of the traditional floral arrangements, tulle, lattice, or pillars, what if you used a small light shining at a mini mirrored disco ball to create a night sky effect? Creative ideas can transform your venue into a magical, romantic environment for your wedding.
