Ideas for Retirement Parties
You have seen that older colleague of yours slogging hard, sincerely devoting himself to work. He has always been a polite and understanding fellow, with no indulgence in anything undesirable or anything that might land him in trouble. This good guy, a 'jolly good fellow' is facing his time of retirement. You should all give a surprise party to make that colleague feel good, and to ensure that he leaves the company on a happy note. It is a way to wish him luck, after his retirement. So now, if you are short of retirement party ideas, this article should give you some. You must keep in mind the venue, the invitees, the time and so on. Let's check out some ideas for a retirement party.

Tell-a-Tale
Well, for starters, you can throw open the stage, for the colleagues of the retiree to speak about him. It can be a friendly banter or a poke at the individual. But hey, no offenses are allowed to be taken and no personal grudges should be involved. Remember? It is supposed to make the retiree feel good. This could be made more interesting by telling funny anecdotes about the retiree. Ask him as well, to give his inputs on those anecdotes, which will keep the party spirit high.

'Photo'listic
Another thing you can do, is to procure some rare photographs of that colleague. Of course, it is possible only for those who are pretty close to that person. But no problem, there will always be someone, that you can approach for them. Highlight these photographs in different corners, depending upon the venue. Do not forget to give some cheesy, funny and interesting captions to the photographs, otherwise they will be like a pasta without cheese or oregano! This idea will also depend on the retirement party decoration. It would be better to keep the decoration subtle, if you want to highlight the photographs.

Shootouts
Well, don't be scared, we are not going to tell you to shoot the retiree or your colleagues with a pistol! By shootout, I meant that you can shoot a video of some of your colleagues, who were close to the retiree. A personal touch can be added to the video, by adding clips of the retiree's family members. It is bound to be touchy and sentimental, nevertheless, it is a great idea. Make sure your female colleagues are carrying handkerchiefs!

Game Zone
Introduce some zing in the party, by playing a game. Everyone can take turns and say the first adjective that comes to their mind, about the 'old fella'. It has to be spontaneous, or it loses out on all the fun. People thoroughly enjoy such activities and it gives a good insight on what people think about you. You can prepare by yourself, or may suggest to others, to come up with one liners or some nice poems, in the honor of the retiree. This is a complete fun idea for a retirement party.

Cook It Up and Go Decorative
Base your party on the type of food that you are going to serve. Have some fruit and vegetable decorations and accompany them with the usual decoration accessories, like ribbons, twinkle lights, strobe lights, jazzy balloons, etc. You can have a chocolate fountain, if it is indeed possible to get one. Beverage is also a major part of the appetizer platter, since most parties see people eating, only after they are all done drinking. So raise a toast to the guest of honor!

Amongst other things, you can plan a whacky theme party, with an equally weird and unusual dress code. For instance, it could be a red Indian dress code or a superhero dress code! It can be totally hilarious and can put the party on a more informal footing. So, now if there is a retirement party in the near term, I am sure you are going to be a great host and planner, and rock the retirement party. Well, then, it wont be wrong to say that you will be working hard and partying harder!
