Ideas for Decorating Studio Apartments
Studio apartments are small living spaces that include a living room, bedroom, kitchen and a bathroom, all in a 300-600 square feet area. These apartments are usually cheap and so are sought by students and singles, commonly referred to as bachelor or bachelorette pad. These apartments are so small that furnishing and decorating them can sometimes become a difficult task. It is also important to decorate intelligently, so that the room does not look crowded and cluttered. Let us look at some ways of decorating a studio apartment to make it a cozy living space.

When a person starts living in a new home, there are certain essentials that he or she would need. However, the space in a studio apartment is so less that furnishing and decorating it can be a difficult task. So, the furniture, color scheme, accessories, etc should be such that it is conducive to the area available.

When painting your apartment, it would be better if you do not use more than 2 colors. As it is a small room, too many colors on the walls may make it look dark and crowded. Instead, going in for a lighter shade and applying dark colors like red, orange or blue, on just one of the walls will make the apartment look stylish.

Once the colors are decided, selecting the furniture is the next thing that you would have to think about. Choose furniture that can be used in more than one way. For example, you can opt for a sofa that can be converted into a bed at night. You can also invest in a folding table, that could be opened when you have guests for lunch or dinner. Storage space is something that is very important in a studio apartment, so you should buy furniture that also has a storage space, e.g., if you are buying a bed, go in for one that has storage facility at its bottom. Colors of your sofa set, bedsheets and cushion covers should be such that it goes with the colors of the wall. Buy a table stand which also acts as a showcase, where you can exhibit your showpieces and even books. However, one should avoid overcrowding this place and only things that blend with the apartment should be put in.

If you want to create privacy for each section of the apartment, a great idea would be to add partitions. Room dividers are easily available, however to get a really elegant effect, you can go in for drapes or beaded curtains. A variety of drapes and beaded curtains are available in the market, which would surely add style to your apartment.

Lamp shades and lighting are also very essential things that would help in beautifying your apartment. They are available in a wide range of colors and shapes from which you can chose one that goes well with the color scheme of your apartment.

Decorating your apartment smartly will definitely make it look comfortable as well as spacious. You can use your creativity and imagination to add character to your apartment. As every home is a reflection of the person who lives there, even your apartment should be the replica of your personality.
