Ideal Weight for Women Over 60
What is the supposed to be the healthy weight limit for women over 60? Older women need to take care of their looks and their health too you know! So here is an article to know women's ideal body weight after 60.

What is BMI?
Before we discuss the ideal weight for women over 60, we need to understand one very important consideration: the body-mass index. The BMI is said to be the best way to measure the health of any person of any age. The BMI measurement takes into account the fact that taller people will weigh more than people who are shorter. And thus prescribing the same ideal weight to both tall and short people is not an accurate way to judge their fitness. To this end, the BMI measurement considers both, the height of the person as well as the weight.
The BMI of a person is calculated by multiplying your weight (pounds) with 703 and dividing the result by the square of the height (inches).
i.e. [(weight) x 703] / (height).
Thus, as it takes both the factors into account i.e. the height and the weight of the concerned person, it is said to be a more accurate way of judging whether a person is overweight or not.
So based on the BMI calculation, the ideal BMI count for women is supposed to be between 18.7 - 23.8. So based on this parameter, let us consider the different heights of women and the corresponding weight range within which they should belong.

Are You Above the Ideal Weight Range?
It is scarcely possible for seniors to hop and skip their way into a good weight range. But there are certain things which you too can do to reduce their weight and get into the correct weight range. Firstly, you need to keep a close eye on your eating habits and follow a healthy diet. Secondly, you should ditch your evening drinks and stick to red wine only on those rare occasions. Third, reduce the sugar content in your daily food. For sweetening your food, you can use honey (if you're not allergic to it), and where honey cannot be used, you can go for sugar substitutes. And lastly, a bit of exercise will also go a long way in maintaining your fitness levels.
If you are overweight, it is better that you rein in your current weight into the advised levels. At an older age, it is essential that you maintain your weight and health as you have a higher chance of contracting any illness. Hence you should remain fit!
