Ice-Skating in Shimla

With the onset of winter, Shimla celebrate the silent snowfall. Hills get covered with the thin sheet of white snow and this 'Queen of Hill Stations' looks no less then a fairy home. Ice-Skating Carnival

A gala for ice-skaters, the Carnival is commenced in the early December and continues till the favorable February. It is organized by the skating club of Shimla, who have been successfully promoting the programme for the last 60 years. Everyday, two sessions are arranged, one in the morning and another in the evening.

Ice-Skating winter carnival also adds up the color of cultural dance and sport competitions. Fashionistas are offered with the glamor of fancy dance shows, while enthusiasts are paved for the adventure of ice-hockey.

Ice-skating ring is located at Dalhousie and a visit during the peak season offers the fair-like arrangement of the game. Seekers say that the ring is equipped with the largest open-air frozen ice and as such they visit here from far and wide. Interestingly, participates can avail themselves with skating equipments and shoes from the ring itself.
