IBS Natural Remedies
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disorder and most of us suffer from it at some point of time. This article stresses on a few natural remedies which will help in reducing this problem.

Peppermint Oil

Hydrolyzed Guar Gum
It is a water-soluble and non-gelling fiber. This fiber helps in reducing diarrhea and constipation. It also helps in alleviating abdominal pain. The bacteria which are beneficial for our body like lactobacilli and bifidobacteria are also increased by it.
Oatmeal
Another natural remedy is the consumption of plain oatmeal. This will definitely help in alleviating the problem. But, make it a point to consume it regularly so that you get best results.
Rice
Boil one cup of rice in two cups of water. Sprinkle a bit of peppermint on the rice. Eat this rice for relieving IBS. This will eliminate bloating and other symptoms. This simple homemade remedy will work if the condition is not very intense and severe.
Lemon
Consuming a few drops of lemon juice is extremely effective. If, it is difficult for you to have lemon juice directly, add a few drops of lemon juice to water and then consume it. But, make sure that you do not add sugar to it. This will give the much required relief from constipation and diarrhea.
Aloe Vera
Cut the aloe vera leaf from the center and remove the pulp present inside. Make a juice of this pulp and drink it everyday in the morning. This clears the system and eliminates all IBS related problems.
Laxatives
There are two types of laxatives, namely; osmotic laxatives and stimulant laxatives. Osmotic laxatives should be consumed only if prescribed by the medical practitioner. While, stimulant laxatives can be consumed without prescription also. But, consume it only if you have complete knowledge about the laxative. They help in softening the stools and also relieve other problems. Be it any of the two laxatives, take them only after consulting the doctor as they might cause several side effects on the body.
Having a healthy lifestyle will help in being away from IBS. Make sure that you consume healthy food, take sufficient sleep and also exercise regularly. Also, make it a point to drink 8 to 10 glasses of water daily.
