I Want To Believe

I want to believe that things will get better for us,
I always hear you saying, Just how much you need me.
But your actions keep saying otherwise,
Look into my eyes. Can’t you see that I want to believe in you,
As well as all what you say.
However when I close my eyes,
All I see is all that you have done to hurt me,
How can my hurter be my protector?

I have had very little sunshine
Since we began down this road,
I want to believe in you,
But you have to help me
Show me a sign of where your change has started,
This I want to see because all I really see is you waiting to hurt me again,
Help me, Believe in you once again because I really need plus miss my lover
As well as my friend, before I can give you any part of me.
I must first have trust in you so I need you to help me,
To believe that love isn’t only a dream,
Or a fairy tale that won’t come true.

Please help me have faith in you because I want to badly believe plus
Trust that you really do have love for me…
