I Love You Thrice

The third part of I Love You. Terra is upset from losing Jason.
I woke up the next morning, but my eyes wouldn't open. I heard the birds singing. All different kinds. I know nothing about birds, but I could tell they were singing because they were in love. Just like I was.
"Hey, wake up," was the voice I heard. I tried to open my eyes, but my head was throbbing. "Please wake up," the voice continued.
"I'm awake; I just can't open my eyes." I forced them open and they felt like they were going to bleed. "How long have I been here for?"
I looked around. I was in a forest. There was a water fall behind me, a few big rocks, and I was lying in a puddle of mud. Nice, I thought. But then I noticed where I was. I wasn't in California, present or future. I was in North Dakota.
"You hit your head pretty hard," said Mikey, lifting up my head. "What happened?"
"It was all a dream?" I looked directly at him. "How long have I been out for?"
"About a minute. I heard you scream."
"This, this can't be possible. It was all so real."
"I think I should take you home now. You're kind of scaring me." He grabbed my hand and helped me up. I was kind of wobbly.
"You mean, you don’t remember anything?" I was dumbfounded.
"Um… I remember that we might be late for breakfast." We walked all the way home. We met his sisters half way there and Mikey explained what happened.
When I finally got to my room I slept for three hours. I dreamt of everything that happened during the course of time. What happened? Why was it so real? Am I ever gonna see him again? How come Mikey didn’t remember anything?

The next day was church. It was a lot different than back home. The Pastor was way more lively and so was the congregation.
We had to greet a few people. I turned around and, directly behind me was... Jason?
"Nice to meet you," he said with a smile.
I was so shocked that I didn't speak. He just smiled and sat back down. I turned around, sat down, and nudged Mikey.
"Who's that guy?" I whispered, trying to see if he remembered anything at all.
"That's Jason. He's been coming here for a few months. He's leaving soon though. To California I think…"
That was all I needed to know. I smiled, folded my arms, and nodded my head. This is what God planned. Although I have no idea why Mikey didn’t remember.
After the sermon, everyone mingled for a while. I met some of Mikey's friends who were really nice. Although I was a little preoccupied, I was able to be friendly. In only a matter of minutes, almost the whole place was empty.
"You coming?" asked Mikey.
"I just wanna hang out here for a minute. Pray."
He shrugged his shoulders. "OK." He walked away and I looked at the cross.
"God, if it's Your will, can I please see him again?"
"Well, if you love him."
I turned around to find the voice. It was Jason. My eyes became huge.
"Well, do you?" he asked, coming towards me, hands in his pockets.
My eyes started to water as I rushed toward him, arms open wide. I cried on his shoulder as he embraced me.
"It's okay Terra. Don't cry. We’re together now."
I looked up at him, wiping my eyes. "How did this happen? What happened? I thought it was a dream. Mikey doesn’t remember."
"I don't know. It wasn’t a dream and I don’t know why Mikey doesn’t remember. But God brought us together. And I don't wanna lose you again."
"So what happened after I left? How much time were you alone for?"
"I just woke up," he said, shaking his head. "And I was home with my family again. Back in North Dakota, two years before the rapture."
"Me too," I said, laying my head on his chest.
"Hey Brown Eyes."
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
