I Love My Child

This is a satire about pregnant smokers. After reading this I hope you take into consideration the risks of smoking while carrying a child.
I love my child with all of my heart
I’d never hurt it for I’d be left sore
Eight months I’ve protected, soon we will part

Oh dear, I have yet to end what I start
Alas, a craving I cannot ignore
I love my child with all of my heart

Hush little one, I know the smoke is tart
But mom could not be if it was no more
Eight months I’ve protected soon we will part

My dear don’t fret, for I know; I’m smart
Doctors solely ramble in a mass roar.
I love my child with all of my heart

I know best for you; your health is my art
My smoke can’t touch you. Your heart it won’t bore
Eight months I’ve protected soon we will part

No, Darling, no. Surely that’s the wrong chart
No way you’ve been damaged deep to the core
I love my child with all of my heart
Eight months I’ve protected soon we will part
