I Hated Watching You Die

About watching life eb away from a loved one…
I hated watching you die,
The disease in your body
Took the best of you
Left the rest to lie

On sheets of white
In candle light of gold
The disease in your body gave the price
And you were sold

The breath grasping
To hold on and make it too the next one
A body diseased
A mind at disease

How short your life
And yet how long
Beautiful like poetry
Sweet like song

I hated watching you die
Hated the pain
Hated the tears
Hate the grief
We’ve to carry for years
