I Found Her Voice

Last night I found myself,
Talking to thin air.
The thing was I could hear her,
Though she wasn't physically there.

It was as if I found her again,
When I’ve been searching for so long.
I look for her down every street,
Even though i know she's gone.

I was just so happy to find her,
It's a shame it was all in my head.
"And I never meant to hurt you"
Was the last thing she said.

I just hope she knows that,
She honestly didn't hurt me.
I've just been hurting myself,
Ashamed that I didn't see.

That I didn't see it coming,
So I couldn't help her.
Maybe if I saw the signs,
It wouldn't have been her turn ...
