I Dunno = S
Hmm. I don't really like it but oh well.
I wiped the tear had escaped. Around me the familiar clamor of the train station continued. Out of the corner of my eye I could see one of those over concerned strangers. He was staring at me. I couldn't see his face clearly but I knew it wore a concerned expression. I wish he'd just go away. He scooted to the seat next to me then cleared his throat.
"Um, are you ok?"
I looked over at him ready to say the usual I'm fine.
"Jacob?"
A big smile spread across my face as he smiled also in recognition.
"Jade!"
He leaned over and hugged me so tight that I could barely breathe then he stood up and reached from my hand.
"Walk with me."
I grabbed his hand, he helped me up, and we started to walk. We talked for hours about the past and what was new then he stopped walking and looked at me intensely.
"I really missed you." He said.
"Me too."
He just stood there unmoving and I let my eyes wonder. He had short velvety black hair and beautiful blue eyes, and his lips were a subtle pink. I went off into my own little world. Yea, his lips are probably so smooth... I could feel it, Smooth and subtle...
"Uh..." I heard a muffled sound.
I gasped as I realized my finger was on his lips feeling the smoothness of them.
"Whoa sorry."
We both laughed then he went back to seriousness.
"I was looking everywhere for you."
"Really?" I said slowly and unsure.
Inside I was trying to decide if I should be scared that he came all the way back just to find me.
"So...Where are your parents?"
"New York." He said uncomfortably.
"They aren't coming?"
"No. They don't know I'm here and I plan on keeping it that way." He looked deep into my eyes as he said that.
"What happened?"
"Don't worry about it." He shook his head dismissively.
"Anyway. All I know is that as of now... you're all I have left."
Jacob and I had been friends since birth. We always went to the same school, had the same classes, and we were even next door neighbors. Then it all ended in sixth grade when I had to move to Oklahoma. That's when my life started going downhill. And here I was at the train station, ready to go away. To end all the suffering this move had caused me.
We talked for hours just walking around the train station.
"So how'd you get here?" He asked looking around the parking lot.
"Oh, I drove here."
"Cool. So shall we go home? I mean...to your house."
He smiled and we went over to my car and we started driving back the twenty miles. I couldn't believe I had gone back on my plan. I had already left the note on my refrigerator; I had sent the notes to my friends. Here I was going back to everything I hated so much.
Then I thought to myself. Maybe it was like that for him too. That's why he came all this way to find me. He thought he could find someone he could relate to. I didn't have the heart to tell him that it wasn't like that. I had changed, for the worse.
On the way to my house we talked and laughed and there was a last glimmer of hope. If he was coming to stay then I wouldn't hate life so much.
I dragged myself into my room, Jacob trailing closely behind. I sat on a chair facing him then motioned him to take a seat next to me. He remained standing.
"So why'd you come all the way to Oklahoma?"
He fidgeted a little then put his hands in his pockets.
"Well it could be because I missed you..."
His voice was shaking now.
"Or...It could be because you promised you'd never leave and the very next day you left."
I was completely confused.
"You know the group we hung out with?"
He started pacing.
"The very day you left they turned on me. I had nobody..."
He sat down.
"I sent you so many letters and you never replied. I called you... You never called back. A few weeks ago, I was ready to kill myself but that wouldn't be fair would it? You get to live after hurting me?"
He laughed for a second though nothing was funny. He pulled something out his pocket.
"I loved you..."
I closed my eyes and leaned back against the chair. I heard a bottle rattle.
"These won't kick in until after I kill you. But you know what's awesome? We get to die on the same day... That's a little romantic don't you think? Maybe I'll see you there, In Heaven?"
He laughed bitterly.
I heard the sound and felt it at the same time. My arm was burning and I fell off my chair. Then I heard him get up and something cold pressed against my head. I heard the click. That wasn't how I wanted to get away from the torture of my life. But I still escaped from it right?
