***Duff's POV***
I felt cold finger tips trace my lips softly dragging me towards consciousness from my uncomfortable sleep kneeling by Elle's bed. Where ever the fingers touched me sent shocks through my body. My eyes fluttered open and staring back was Elleana, awake.
"E-elle?" My voice was husky from crying. Her eyes brightened and she smiled. "Oh thank god." I sobbed and grabbed her pulling her tightly into my arms. I cried silent tears into her throat as she gently stroked my back, cooing soft nothings in my ear.

****Elleana's pov****
I could feel his hot tears drip onto my skin and I hugged him tight. "Duff, I was only out for a few days." I whispered.
"More like 3 months."
"WHAT!? Not true!"
"Yes it is! Elle you got into an accident again...you were hit by a car." he whispered softly. I could feel my eyes widen as it all flooded past me again. Pictures flashed in my mind. Me. On my bike. Headlights. Blue car. Lenny....oh god...LENNY.
"Lenny.." I whispered.
"What? What did you say honey?" Duff searched my eyes.
Silently I thought about what I would say. If I said it was Lenny, I'd just hurt him more by putting him behind bars. But still..he deserved it. "I said I lost um...a penny.." It was the first thing I could think of that rhymed with Lenny. Duff's voice became amused.
"Is that all your worried about?" he chuckled.
I shook my head to clear it. "Ya sorry, that bump really must a messed me up."
His arms wrapped around my waist. "Nope, your still my Elle." And I layed there in his arms. Pictures of Lenny running through my mind. His eyes glazed over with pure hate towards me. His handsome face twisted into one belonging to a mad man.

***Lenny's POV***
Oh god...what have I done. I...I've hurt the only person I could ever love. I put my face in my hands and swam in the cloud of hate towards myself i had created. Before I could think another thought I grabbed my keys and headed to Sacred Heart Hospital.

***Elleana's POV***
"Please..go home. Just for me." I begged Duff. This argument had been going on for a half hour. "Get a good sleep and come back tomorrow."
He sighed, "Fine, fine ill go but im coming back EARLY!" He grabbed his jacket and leaned down to kiss me softly and sweetly on the lips. He pulled back reluctantly and with a pained look he walked out of the door. I watched the doorway trying to keep myself from calling him back. After 10 minutes of looking out the door with hope I turned my gaze to the window. The stars twinkled softly putting me to sleep.

I felt a gentle but very noticeable tug on my shoulder. I ignored the nurse probably checking to see if I was brain dead and suffocating myself on slobber.
I was falling back into sleep when the tug came again only harder. "What?!" I said flipping over to face the person who is totally set on not letting me sleep. But the person i saw was...Lenny.
"Go away." I spat out.
"No."
"Yes. Or I will call the cops."
"Why haven't you told them what I did..." He asked.
"I..I don't know." I mumbled.
"Elle im s-"
"I swear to god Lenny, if you say your sorry I will jump out a window." He became silent, his eyes filled with hurt. He took off his Cabela's hat and wrung it in his hands and bit his bottom lip, trying to hold back tears. I sat up in my bed and winced as pain shot through my body. I just sat there with my head in my hands.
"I love you Elle..." tears were in his voice.
"Don't say that." I mumbled back close to tears as well.
"Why not!?!?! It's true!" He stalked over to my bed and sat by me.
"It can't be true. You hit me with a car!! And try and keep your voice down." I whispered.
"Elle, why won't you believe me, I adore you!"
"Well, 1. you stabbed my back with a nail. 2. you force kissed me and lets not forget 3. YOU HIT ME WITH A CAR!"

"I didn't stab you...I ... pushed you against it!" he whined.
"Still!'
He sighed and just studied my face. Slowly his face and eyes lost its look of hate. They turned sad, lonely. "Oh Lenny," I sighed and hugged him tightly. "Why did you have to complicate everything?" I whispered. He hugged me back tightly and barried his face into my throat. He cried softly.
I layed my head on his shoulder feeling scraps of the friendship we used to have hit my heart. "Why couldn't you just have been happy with our friendship?" I mumbled through tears.
"I don't know.." He sobbed. "And..I'm sorry for this.."
"For the car thing?" I asked. "Don't worry, I've forgiving you."
"No...for this.." and with that he pulled the plug on my breathing tube. My eyes got wide as the air to my lungs came to a searching halt. I clawed at my neck, craving for air. He held my body tightly to his mumbling apologies.
"Why.." I wheezed out.
"If I cant have you....no one can." He hissed, and everything went dark as I heard my heart monotor flat line.

***Duff's POV***
It was 3am and I decided to sneak over to the hospital since I couldn't sleep. I was walking to her room but I couldn't get to it...there was a group of nurses going crazy and swarming around the hallway.
I grabbed a doctor and asked, "Whats going on?" I nodded my head towards the hustle.
"A motorcycle accident victim's heart just stopped." And he pulled himself out of my now numb arms. I dashed over to Elle's arms to see her lifeless body being held by a nurse trying to revive her.
"NO!" I shouted and ran into the room ignoring the complaints. I grabbed Elleana and cradled her in my arms. The doctors and nurses watched in tears as I begged for her to wake up. "Elle, PLEASE, open your eyes! Please!" I wiped her hair out of her face. Her lips slowly lost color and faded to purple. Her body became cold. I pulled her to my chest and sobbed. "PLEASE ELLE!! I don't want you to leave me! Not again! Not perminately!" One of the doctors came over to me and tried to pull her away from me. "No! Don't touch her! She's going to be ok!"

"Son..I'm sorry..She's gone." his green eyes showed nothing but pain.
"No..she isn't!" I leaned so my lips brushed her icy ear, "Elle, listen to me, I know you can hear me. You need to come back. Don't leave me." I whispered.
I held my breath but she gave no response. She stayed motionless, her eyes closed. Her heart silent. Finally after a few minutes the doctor grabbed her away from me as two others held me back from him. "No!" I can't let him take her. "Elle!"
"Duff.." a soft whisper came. The doctors gasped and looked at Eleana.
"Sweetheart can you hear me?" I sobbed.
All I saw was her lips turn their usual pink and her head nodded yes slowly. The whole staff had gathered and watched in wonder as Elle revived herself. Her face scrunched in pain and then her eyes sprung open. Color flooded back into her face but her eyes were still filled with pure sadness. "Lenny did it.." she rasped out. Furry filled my body...he was going to pay. I ran over and grabbed Elle from the doctor and hugged her tightly.
"Oh god Elle...I thought..i thought you were..."

"Shh.." she interrupted me. "Im not. That's what matters. Now I can stop using that god forsaken breathing tube....right?" she asked the doctors and they smiled and nodded. "Yes!" she cheered. You would have never guessed this girl had died for 9 minutes. Her eyes were bright, her cheeks rosey.
"What did Lenny do..."
"Hit me with a car and pulled the plug," she said nonchalantly as she grabbed a strawberry Twizzler from a goodie bag in my pocket and shoved it hungrily into her mouth.
"He's gonna pay..." I spat and layed her on her bed. "Now get some sleep." The room became clear of doctors and one nurse gave her some pain medication and left the room. I layed on the bed next to her and she tucked herself into the crook of my arm. Her shivering body cuddled into mine and I hugged her tight, afraid to let her go. It was now that I realized how fragile she truly is and how much she really means to me.
Her eyes fluttered shut as the medicine pulled her under. And I watched as she slept soundly.
