I Always Thought

I always thought,
You would be the one,
But now that you’re gone,
I feel like we are done.
It still hurts inside,
And it always will,
Until the day I die,
And lay very still,
I know you have made up your mind,
But even though I still love you,
It won’t heal in time.
I know we won’t be together again,
But I still hope we can be close friends,
