Hypnosis - Opening the Shackles of the Mind
What Hypnosis can actually do and how it can help open your mind to remove limiting beliefs.
Majority of us are prisoners of our own minds. The actual real content of the mind shows in our thoughts and our actions. When we are guided by the mind to act in a particular way, the results are generally mostly predictable. To break the shackles of the mind and to think and act differently there is no other alternative but to change the mind. Hypnosis is a process which helps to open many closed doors and to view life in a completely new and positive light.
First of all, hypnosis is not about falling asleep in the middle of a session and doing what the hypnotist asks you to do. What the hypnotist is essentially doing is to take you through a process by which the two layers of the mind – the conscious and the subconscious or the unconscious can communicate with each other. In other words, hypnosis is all about an altered state of mind, where the reasoning, evaluating and judgmental part of the mind is left aside as we enter into the deeper crevices of the subconscious.
Did all this sound gibberish? Let us try and make this simpler. When was the last time you remember watching a movie with rapt attention, to the extent that nothing else around you mattered? Your eyes were glued to the screen and you laughed or cried involuntarily with every passing scene. The director of the movie had successfully ‘hypnotized’ you for those moments. You were fully ‘aware’ while the movie was running and could easily come out of the ‘hypnotic trance’ if you wanted – but your mind was taken away completely by what you saw and got immersed in another world. Doesn’t this sound very similar to day dreaming?
But at the end of the day, why are so many people talking about hypnosis and what are its benefits? As mentioned above, the mind is a storehouse of memories, fears, phobias, impressions, beliefs and notions. While the upper stratum, the conscious state is storing most of the current events and memories, the subconscious, with its immense capacity has been storing thoughts and impressions since you were born. The incidents of early childhood, which later shape many of your habits and behavioral traits, are all stored as critical information in the subconscious level. While the positive and good memories shape our personality and behavior in a positive way, the bad ones are equally strong in making us what we are. In fact all the negative beliefs and ideas can manifest themselves through a host of mental and physical disorders including addiction, insomnia, depression, anxiety disorders, overweight issues, and more.
The process of hypnosis is aimed to bring up the subconscious stratum of the mind to a level where it is more receptive to positive suggestions and ideas. This in turn clears up the clutter and confusion that exists in the mind and helps us to make us change many of deep-rooted beliefs that make us behave in a way which is not healthy for us. This is the reason, why hypnosis is used to cure several conditions including weight loss, smoking, alcohol dependence, and anxiety attacks. Hypnosis can be used in hypnosis mp3 recordings or real life sessions with a hypnotherapist.
