Hydroxycut Death Solidifies Decision to Buy USA Products Only

The recent death that has been linked to the usage of the popular diet pill hydroxycut has solidified my decision to only buy health and skin care products made in the USA. Creams, lotions, pills, capsules, and gels are simply not trustworthy when made outside the USA's strict health codes.
There was recently a lot of press released about the adverse reactions of the ultra-popular diet pill hydroxycut. There were symptoms ranging from jaundice to liver failure that were all linked to the popular supplement that is marketed in mainstream stores such as GNC. While diet pills always come with disclaimers, this was a shock as I can remember it being a very popular diet pill dating back about ten years. What does not shock me is that it was made outside of the USA. Every time a supplement, ingredient, or product seems to run afoul with the law, it seems to be made with lax health guidelines outside of the USA.

I was surprised this pill was actually made outside of the USA. It is even made by a company that bears the name Lovate Health Sciences USA. Imagine that, a Canadian company bears the name "USA" in it's corporation. That is a common practice among companies but in my eyes it's very deceiving. I buy American-made products (other than vehicles) because I know they are made in the most respectable facilities. I would not dare consume something made outside of the USA, especially after this recent report and recall by Hydroxycut. While I am surprised that a product I held in such high esteem personally (and even used when I was younger as a dietary supplement) was recalled, I am not shocked it was made in Canada. Canada is a very first-world country and is similar to the United States in many ways, but their health codes are relaxed and this case shows me there is little supervision outside of wherever products are made.

Products I normally review include eye creams, and due to the potential savings and higher margins large corporations demand when they sell eye creams, they usually source ingredients and laboratories for production far from the USA. I won't sit here and bore you with why I don't like China for production, but there is a reason these products are pennies on the dollar and why people are often complaining about their effectiveness.

Did you know that contamination, even in the slightest bit, can alter a formula and make it ineffective? Products you hear about that are recalled are often products that were made with little regulation or any supervision. Think about it - why would you spend $189 on an eye cream that you know was made outside of the United States? There are places that open up their books and tell you what their standing is with the FDA and State Health Boards. Those are companies I like to endorse, and if you read my blog, I talk about that further. A link is at the end of this article. Read the "choose the best eye cream" page and you will see an in-depth rant about why I endorse American made products.

The question you must answer to yourself is simple - can you trust your health with products potentially made in subpar conditions with little or no regulation?

My answer is obvious, and this recent report about hydroxycut solidified my decision.
