HP Slate 500 Launched
HP (Hewlett-Packard) has recently launched a portable device called HP Slate 500. Here's more about this much awaited gizmo.
Finally HP, the dominant market players in desktop computers have come up with a handy and portable 9-inch touch-screen tablet computer for business users. They have taken a lot of efforts to make this gadget far more ahead in terms of technology as compared to the same range devices that are presently available in the market. I am talking about a market where Apple is a tough competitor (with Apple iPad).
HP Slate 500 Features
Here is a short summary of features of HP Slate 500. It's a 9 inch hand-held tablet PC with an Intel Atom Processor and a 2GB DDR2 SDRAM. With this, you can read through documents, browse the internet using Wi-Fi, stay connected with friends, make video calls, take pictures as it has a camera too (Actually 2 cameras), all these things that too without a single click yes it has got a multi-touch feature and the most important thing is its cost - which is around $799.
Slate 500 - Technical Specifications
Some people may compare this device with Apple's iPad but I think they are not in the same class, HP Slate can be considered as a PC (it has each and every feature of a PC.) Apple iPad is meant for a complete different league of people (people who wish to go beyond PC usage - people who want complete portability with limited system requirements)
So, now we can expect some big names to compete for the physically small portable devices. New generation of computing is here, imagine everything going wireless.
