How to Write Attention Grabbing Cover Letters ?

If you want to write cover letters that grab the reader's attention, here's how to do it. You'll want to make the extra effort to put together a great cover letter considering it will be the employer's first exposure to you and could be the basis of the decision on whether or not to interview you. Only those who get an interview will be considered for employment so the first hurdle is getting an interview with the hiring manager.

The AIDA formula is as old as dirt. It was taught when I was in school over a decade ago. And it's still being taught for good reason - it works! When you apply it to your cover letter, it has the power to transform a regular cover letter into an attention-grabbing 'Killer Cover Letter' that'll make your phone ring off the hook.

You probably figured out that AIDA is an acronym. The A is for Attention, the stands for Interest, the D means desire, and the last A is for Action. Marketers who have the ability to guide their prospects through this process make more sales and in this instance you are a marketer selling yourself.

When you're looking for a job, consider the hiring manager to be your prospect and consider yourself the product for sale with the goal of convincing the hiring manager to interview you. Your objective is to stand out from the crowd and get noticed by the hiring manager to the point that he or she takes the action to interview you.

By the way, I've tested this killer "System" on myself so I know it works. Ready to get started? The next article will cover attention. If you don't grab the reader's attention immediately, none of the rest of the formula matters.
