Step 1
The first thing you need to make sure before you learn how to twirl drumsticks is find your dominant hand, which you use more often.

Step 2
Hold one drumstick in its standard position in your dominant hand and the center of its gravity needs to be just above your index finger.

Step 3
Use your thumb to give the stick a slight push over the index finger but don't move the index finger. Then put all your other fingers out of the way while doing this.

Step 4
After this, allow the drumstick to fall over the index finger and put the middle finger on the stick while doing this. It's position should be between the middle finger and the index with the stick's tip facing downwards.

Step 5
With your index finger, push the stick over letting it rest between the third and the middle finger. Now the stick's tip should be facing upwards again.

Step 6
In a similar way, bring the stick between the smallest and the third finger with its tip facing back to you.

Step 7

When you come to the step where the stick is passed back to the thumb, bring the middle finger underneath so that it's facing you (along with your little finger).
