How to Tie a Ribbon Bow
Tying a bow is simple an uncomplicated. Presented below is step-by-step information on tying ribbon bow for hair, for wreaths, and on a gift box.

Making a Ribbon Bow Clip for Hair
- Firstly, you need to fold the ribbon (of your desired color) around the barrette. Tie it by moving the right end over and under the left end.
- Fold the ends of the ribbon into loops.
- The left loop should be crossed over and under the right one.
- Now arrange and tie a perfect bow, such that the ends of the ribbon are even. You can cut the edges at angles for more dramatic effect.
- Hold the center of the ribbon and bring the other end to the center to form a loop.
- Now wrap the second strand around the above made loop. This step is similar to tying shoe lace.
- In the next step, you need to push the ribbon again through the loop that is created after the above step.
- A knot will be created at the center and you can tighten it by pulling the ribbon (remember to do it gently or the complete bow will be untied).
- You can continue pulling the knot until both the ends are evenly placed.
- You can place a decorate pin at the center to keep the center of the bow at place. If not possible, simply clip an ordinary safety pin at the back side to serve the same purpose.
- Lastly, spread out the bow to make it appear fuller and tie it to the wreath.
- Select a ribbon of your desired color (it should either perfectly match the gift wrapping paper or contrast completely).
- Tie this ribbon round the box. You can either cut the ends at an angle or let it remain as it is.
- Now take another ribbon (same color or different matching color) to make the decorative bow.
- Hold in the center and loop this second ribbon back and forth, several times.
- Once the bow is made, you can glue the ends so that it remains fixed.
- Lastly, tie or glue this bow to the box or on the ribbon on the box. You can also attach a curling ribbon to the center of this bow to decorate it more.
