How to Tell if a Shy Guy Likes You

Every woman is born with the romantic notions of the the man as the pursuer and she, the object of his attraction (related to some knight and princess stuff). And so you found that perfect knight...oops.. guy for you and yet sadly, he just does not seem that interested in you and in fact, avoids you! Moreover he is actually more friendly with your best friend than you. Yet, you find him staring dreamily at you so often and then looking away as you catch him watching you. Well, I know how frustrating that is but it is actually okay, since, your dream guy just happens to belong to the rather large population of shy (good looking) guys. Which means, that the guy is attracted to you or most probably has the hots for you but is just not able to make the right move. So what do you do about the classic "man pursuing woman" part?

While there are some men who are naturally aggressive (that's just a nicer way of saying flirty), which means that not only you but the entire world seems to know, that he has fallen head over heels for you. In contrast to that, there are these shy guys who seem to be waiting an eternity, to even talk to you. Well, since he is not going to tell you himself and you cannot really wait for days, months or even years(whew!) for him to come out of his shell, how do you know if the guy actually likes you? Or rather how to tell if a SHY guy likes you? Well, here are some tell tale signs that you can watch out for, that tells that the guy is totally smitten by you.

How to Tell if a Guy Likes You

Check the Body Language: If the guy has fallen for you, then his body language would certainly show it. You will find him sitting and standing close to you and most of the times leaning towards you. A true test of finding out if he is interested is, to lightly touch his arm while having a conversation. If he is taken aback and even goes as far as pulling away his arm, do not misinterpret him. In fact, he flinched just because the smallest touch from you caused a big reaction. Some of the guys even blush when they are around the girl they like.

The Look: Watch out for that look, that can betray the calm exterior of a shy guy. Remember that all-sweeping-look, as his eyes look at you from head to toes, followed by his eyes lingering on yours. However, it is probable that even if a shy guy does make eye contact, he will not be able to sustain it for long and just glance away. This is temporary of course, as you can find him looking at you quite often.

Be Aware of the Touching: Most of the times when a guy is interested in you, he might subtly touch you by either putting his hand on your arm when he laughs or not moving his legs, if it happens to touch yours or he may hug you for small things.

Nervousness: Watch out for nervous laughter, sweaty palms, deep breaths and fidgeting for signs of attraction. Although, most of the times he can talk very well with others, you may find him at loss of words around you.

Showing an Interest in the Things You Like: A sure sign that he likes you is, when he suddenly starts showing interest in the things you like, such as music or sports.(Sadly this does not apply to shopping).

Does Something Unexpected: If you suddenly find yourself bumping into the guy at the place you frequent, you can tell the guy really likes you. Then all of a sudden his face goes red and a sudden "hi" can tell you, that he has been asking people about your schedule or he has been paying attention to where you are going and at what time.

Remember, that even the shyest of men will fall for you, if you make things easy for him and be friendly. After all he is your PERFECT man, it is just that he is too shy to admit the fact.
