How to Stop Stress
Learn the different ways to stop stress before it starts affecting your personal and professional life adversely. Suggested below are some easy and effective ways for doing so...

Get Organized!
Many a time, a person is stressed because he is not organized! Do you often have to look around for the clothes to wear or documents to carry while going to college or office? Is your room cluttered? If yes, start with stacking things neatly so that you do not have to struggle looking for them. Do the same with your office space. Keep files, stationary and other things at proper place so that you can find them easily. Along with organizing your physical space, organize yourself mentally too. Weekly or daily, make a list of tasks to be done. You can either jot them down or remember them. Then one by one, on the basis of priority, finish them. This will ensure that you don't have to worry about pending assignments and meeting deadlines!
Make Room for "Me Time"!
Another reason is that we do not give time to ourselves. Most of our day is spend in meeting our personal and professional goals. This can take toll on our mental well-being. So, everyday, either in the morning or before going to sleep, spend at least ten minutes in only your company. Think about how the day went, what you learned, what you could have done better, what you could have avoided, etc. In short, live an aware life! Know and understand the things around you, learn from them and evolve everyday.
Hit the Gym!
Join a gym and make a regular exercise routine. Exercising, besides being great for the body physically, has numerous mental benefits too. First of all, if you exercise everyday, you will get in shape. This will automatically boost your confidence. Secondly, exercising increases the level of endorphins in the body, which acts as a mood elevator, thus keeping the stress levels at bay. Lastly, if it is caused due to lack of proper sleep, exercising can cure this problem as researches show that people who exercise everyday, see a marked improvement in their quality of sleep.
Undertake Relaxation Techniques!
Start with a course of meditation or do breathing exercises at home. These will calm you and soothe your nerves. Deep breathing for a few minutes, a number of times a day, is known to relax a person immensely.
Take a Balanced Diet!
A balanced diet is a must. It is often seen that people skip their breakfast in a hurry to reach office. This is one of the worst things that you can do to your body. Your breakfast provides you the much-needed energy to function properly throughout the day, so make it a point to eat a healthy, nutritious one in the morning. Your everyday diet should have the right amount of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, calcium, fibers, minerals, vitamins and all other essential nutrients. If your diet is balanced and healthy, you will feel more energetic and generally remain in a good mood. Tiredness and low blood sugar levels which are contributors to stress, can be warded off if a healthy diet is taken everyday and no meal is skipped.
Socialize!
All humans have a need to socialize, make friends and build bonds. So if you want to remain stress-free, meet up with friends, call up your parents and spend quality time with your partner. Sharing, laughing together, being intimate and feeling close to someone are some of the best ways to deal with it.
Sleep Well!
If you are feeling fatigued, irritated and unable to concentrate on work during the day, the reason could be that you have not slept well, the previous night. So, make it a point to sleep for seven to eight hours in the night. Maintaining the same sleeping pattern everyday i.e. sleeping and waking at the same time helps in good sleep. Reading a book or listening to soft music before going to bed, induces sleep too.
Get Entertained!
Make sometime everyday to pursue something that you like to do, be it singing or dancing or watching movies or painting! Involve yourself in some creative activity or a work that you love to do, it will bring down your stress levels!
Maintain a Journal!
If there are some things that are too personal and you do feel like sharing them with others, you can write them down in a journal. Write about how you feel, why you are feeling like this and what according to you is the solution for it. Writing about your feelings will help you to understand yourself better and this way, your stress will get reduced too.
Take a Break!
To get a fresh perspective on life, take a break from everything once in a while. Go on a holiday, away from your colleagues and loved ones. If there is some particular issue that has caused stress to you, you will definitely be able to find a solution for it, by spending time with your own thoughts and feelings at a far away destination.
Besides the tips mentioned above, developing a positive attitude is extremely important too. Tell yourself that you won't feel bogged down by whatever happens in your life and that you would face things head on. Self-talk always works when it comes to dealing with stress.
