How To Safely Downgrade Your PSP
The PSP gaming console is capable of doing many things among which is playing games. Come to think of it, you probably bought a PSP primarily so you can play games. The problem is that if you have a PSP with firmware 1.51 and above, you cannot play downloaded games because of the added security features Sony (the PSP manufacturer) has added. But don't fret at all - there is a way around this problem. This article will show you how to downgrade your firmware version so that you can play any downloaded games and movies of your choice.
The first thing you will need to do is get to know the version of firmware that your PSP is running. To get this information, turn on your PSP and navigate to the main menu. While there, select "Settings" and then navigate to "System Settings" and scroll down to "System Information". There you will find the firmware version of your PSP - a series of numbers ranging from 1.0 to 3.95 (at the time of this writing the latest firmware is version 3.95). Take note of this number, you will need it to know exactly how to downgrade to firmware version 1.50 so you can have the freedom of playing downloaded games.
Next, your would need to find the right downgrader to downgrade your PSP's firmware. This is very important because using the wrong downgrader software could kill your PSP making it a mere piece of monumental crap. To get the most appropriate downgrader, head over to Google (or go over to my website below) and perform a search entering a search string like "downgrader for PSP Firmware X.XX" where X.XX is the exact version of the firmware on your PSP. A word of caution, though, is necessary...
Be sure the website where you download the downgrader is an authority site. If not, you might just download a downgrader that would crash your PSP. To be sure your ass is covered, visit my website below for more information on downgrading.
While it is perfectly legal to downgrade you PSP firmware, absolute care must be taken to prevent any problem after the downgrade because upon downgrading you would void any warranty that comes with your PSP. If the downgrade goes well (it will if you follow proper instructions), then you will have for yourself a PSP on which you can play ANY downloaded games and movies.
