How to Reset iPhone Password

Got a new iPhone and still getting the hang of the phone? Well, there is nothing unusual in it, right? Not everybody is tech savvy! But one thing is for sure, that as you start using and exploring the phone and, in short fiddling with its functions, it can be used easily! One of the first few things most of us have faced on buying new cell phones, is the phone password, which protects the phone from being used by others. Sometimes it can happen that we forget that password or pass code as it is called. In that case you will have to reset the Apple iPhone password. How Do You Reset the Password on an iPhone?

If you are conversant with iTunes and the overall workings of desktops and iPhone, this will not be too challenging a task for you. You will need iTunes software and USB cable for the password set up. There are two parts of this task. First, you will have to get rid of the old password by restoring the factory settings and then change the password.

Begin by connecting your iPhone with the USB cable and with your computer. Then once you do this, turn off your iPhone. By pushing the power button on the top of the phone, you can turn off the phone. But while you turn the phone off, wait for a slider to come on the screen.

Taking ahead of the previous point, after you see the slider on screen, slide it as per the instructions. Follow that by turning the iPhone on by holding the power button and home button down at the same time.

The home button is the circular button you will find in the center of the lower portion of the iPhone face. Now on your phone, a yellow sign depicting that the phone is in the 'restore' mode can be seen.

Now to reset the iphone password lock, start the iTunes software on your computer. Select the program either from the start menu or from the desktop. Follow that by clicking on the summary tab when iTune starts. The tab will be found on top of the screen.

At this juncture, you will have to click on the restore button. This will get your iPhone back to the original settings.

After you have reset the phone, for the password, select the settings on your iphone. Now what you need to do is to select the option for general settings and then select the password lock option.

Now you will have to feed a 4-digit code. That will be used in the future for unlocking your phone. Now others will not be able to use your phone, unless that person knows the code. You will have to enter the code twice for confirming and setting the code.

Last, but not the least, pick the option where you will have to select how often the password will be required for the phone to be functional. If you want to reset the password without restore, that seems highly unlikely. Although if you search on the net, you may find some tricks to do that!
